Why do we go to all the trouble to keep breathing? I mean, it's a nuisance, it keeps us from going placed where there's no air, it makes us cough, sneeze, etc. What a fucking nuisance, so why bother with it?


(PS, for the benefit of the thinking impaired, the above post was SARCASM, as was my post about "Rolling dice". I was and am satirizing the string of "(Aspect of gaming) Fuck, why"? threads that have proliferated since pundy started one.

I'd thought people would grasp the idea with my last thread re dice rolling, but apparently they didn't. I thought about leaving this sarcasm explanation off the message but was afraid people might fail to grasp the fact I was being sarcastic, again.)

I'm not sure I'd be asking "why continue breathing" on a board where I generated as much dislike as you. Even if it's a joke, it's just too easy a door for folks. ;)

While expressed with the usual spectacular inelegance we'e all come to expect from Nox, at the core of it I must confess I'm similarly annoyed with these stupid thread trends.

It was starting to feel like I was back on RPGnet again.  This thread itself only serves to be a reminder of one of the constant cycles of stupid I try to forget about RPOpen . . .

Hmm, your take on it might have been somewhat amusing, too bad you didn't make it.

As for me, the knowledge that the fact I'm breathing annoys you and some others here makes me decide it's worth the effort to keep it up.

Actually, I'd considered saying something myself, but I must say that I wouldn't have done it in a fashion that only serves to continue the trend.  It only serves to hammer home the reminder, because it's exactly how these stupid little "me too" thread trends inevitably played out there as well.

It's an affectation I've only really encountered on RPGnet, and it's one I'd hoped would stay there.
