Title: [Art] The Circle...
Post by: Silverlion on May 15, 2009, 12:04:41 PM
The long story:

I named my company Sivlerlion Studios because of a superhero I created for a playtest of a now defunct game (Silver Age Sentinels) the character evolved to be played in Freedom Force, and as time rolled around, I became more and more fond of the old chap. He's my ideal superhero for a tabletop game. If I ever get someone else to run a dfully serious superhero game where he'd "fit." Maybe someday, I'll have the money to do a comic based on him.

Now I'm not a professional in anyway but I get inspired to try and do artwork of my own, from the inspiration of others.

Since we don't have a general (but still game related) babble thread  here (http://silverlion.deviantart.com/art/Silverlion-Beta-122582827) is the latest attempt to do a picture of my favorite character.

Ah, black and silver.  For some reason I always liked that color combination for a superhero too.

When I designed Wavelength back in the mid 80s, his costume was predominately silver with black sides.  Most of the other characters of X-Force (this was before the Marvel comic of the same name) had a color scheme of black with silver accents.

Wavelength became Waveshock in City of Heroes because his name was already taken.  I've learned to like the name Waveshock better.  I was able to recreate my general idea of Wavelength's costume well enough.  Silver was replaced by white, and I reversed the color priority (mainly black instead of mainly silver) because I thought it looked better that way when I finally saw it graphics instead of my scribblings.  But Waveshock is pretty damn close to how I always imagined him.
