This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Something about a World of Darkness - Berlin convention that's going on now.

Art looks like shit and doesn't convey to me what they're talking about.

I'm dubious about their conception of technology vs. Kindred regardless of metaplot. This sounds like a big invitation for Hunter: the Asskicking (which I'm cool with).

Their nascent ideas of the Sabbat sound weak.

I guess the thing that I don't understand is the power-level of the Kindred. If they're toning it down - then sure, this can work. If not... then none of this makes sense.

Hite - his stuff sounded very interesting.

Edit: listened to some corollary videos. The more I listened the less interesting it sounds. I *really* dislike their attempts to marry the real-world into the game in real-time. Namely because I don't think they can pull it off and sounds gimmicky for marketing reasons. And not a fan of LARP, so I'm a bit confused at all these people from the LARP side being part of the development team.

Outsourcing content development to the general gaming community - another bad idea. So you can publish your product for half of what a regular developer could have earned for themselves? Ugh.

This whole thing sounds way more overcomplicated than it needs to be.

The Gentleman Gamer had good things to say about the convention itself. He is optimistic about WoD.

Of course he would.  He is one of the freelancers that work on world of darkness books.  Nothing against him personally as he seems like a nice guy, but it is like asking the butcher if his meat is good.  Of course the butcher will say yes.

Perhaps my view is based upon our longstanding relationship. I'd trust Matthew with my life. I take his word on things gaming with trust.

How does someone spam YouTube? The whole thing is spam from what I can tell, with a handful of interesting things buried under the avalanche of ad-sponsored videos.  However, I did finally get to watch the whole OVA of Area 88 for the first time thanks to YouTube, so I'll give them that.

Your view is biased. You just confirmed it right here. ;)

They not only spammed their channel, but the resolution and frame rate on Sarah's videos were crap, and the production choices on Karin's videos (poor audio, wearing all black on a black background) were incompetent. They've just aptly demonstrated they have no clue when it comes to #Transmedia.

Does this really matter?

The black on black was so bad I thought it was on purpose, and they were doing some kind of ironic Swedish art thing.

To some I guess.  I was more concerned that a "writer" was so horrible at communication.  But since we're there...goddamn dude, watch some youtube makeup videos.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Mordred Pendragon

I think if the new White Wolf makes another game like Bloodlines, they should overhaul the soundtrack. Less Sisters of Mercy and Cruxshadows and more stuff like this.

CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!

Seriously, I had no idea bluegrass was popular in Asia, that's kinda cool.
