This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So What's Everyone Playing These Days?

Feels as though it's been a while since we had one of these. I wanted to see, though of course theRPGsite is hardly an unbiased microsocm representative of the whole hobby, what people here were actually playing or GMing?

What system, what setting? If you're using books not nominally from that same system/setting, you can include that too.
LION & DRAGON: Medieval-Authentic OSR Roleplaying is available now! You only THINK you\'ve played \'medieval fantasy\' until you play L&D.

Also, now with the CULTS OF CHAOS cult-generation sourcebook

ARROWS OF INDRA

Right now, unfortunately, nothing (waiting to sell the house!).

Before that, Dungeon World. Now working on a mashup of Barbarians of Lemuria with some of the DW conceits.
"When devils will the blackest sins put on, they do suggest at first with heavenly shows..."

Omega

5e D&D + BX Karameikos setting. Playing. DMing is on hold as one player we havent heard from or seen in months.

5e tandem of 3 different groups in the same game playing different days but all tracked by the DM.

Star Frontiers sporadically.

Waiting on a Boot Hill session to start set in the Burned Bush Wells area.

Nihilistic Mind

Playing: Ars Magica 5e (not super into it, to be honest). L5R 4e (it's a ton of fun!).

Running: playtest for the OSR project I'm working on. (Inspired by the Dragon Strike board game and the Darkest Dungeon video game; as well as OSRIC, BD&D etc.)
Running:
Dungeon Crawl Classics (influences: Elric vs. Mythos, Darkest Dungeon, Castlevania).
DCC In Space!
Star Wars with homemade ruleset (Roll&Keep type system).

Dumarest

Nothing at the moment.  Trying to convince people to try Flashing Blades isn't easy as everyone seems more interested in fantasy. Also trying to decide what game would work with Dawn Patrol for a World War I flying aces game. May end up playing Traveller or The Fantasy Trip as sci fi and fantasy are easier sells. Most gamers I meet want magic powers or at least FTL travel.

Willie the Duck

Two campaigns
One 5e D&D default setting (nominally FR, but only really the basic geography). DM is picking and choosing from the published adventures and his own thoughts for a actually pretty good sandbox. We are playing as a Drow house recovering after the house elders were expunged (and executed) for displeasing Lolth.

Playtesting our 'loosely based on Mad Max' game that my friend and I developed.

trechriron

Teaching D&D5e to some people at work (one of the marketing people has "become a Dungeon Master" on her bucket list!).

Gearing up to run WOIN OLD Fantasy for my setting, play testing some magic stuff and kicking the tires on the rules. I'm thinking of publishing with this system.

Running 5e for another SAT group so they can try it out (using the newly updated Sunless Citadel! - one of my favorite modules. And I hate modules. :D).

Headless

Playing Call of Cathuluo. Mystery on the Orient express.  Hoping to finally get to run Amber (LoG&S LoO).  Hoping to to play or run D&d 5th ed.

Alderaan Crumbs

Recently finished running both FFG Star Wars and Gods of the Fall and am now running Blades in the Dark. Very interested in 7th Sea.
Playing: With myself.
Running: Away from bees.
Reading: My signature.

dbm

The Darkening of Mirkwood, using The One Ring. Just a session in so far, so too early to tell how good it is, but the signs are reassuring.

Prior to that, Firefly which was so-so. I like the system (Cortex+) and have backed the current KickStarter, but the campaign was a bit too close to real-world for my escapism.

On going:  Scarlet Heroes with a player who wants to try DM'ing.  She likes the 'intimacy' of a one on one game for learning, I'm playing a fantasy Conan, I'm happy.  FFG's Edge of The Empire (House ruled, namely allowing to buy attributes at 20x the new stat, so from 2 to 3 costs 60XP), Adenventure League 5e.

On Hiatus: Homebrewed FR 5e (A buttload, which a is a massive barrel, but not quite as large as a tun, of house rules, which frankly, the game system seems to be handling better than I expected.)

Starting next Sunday:  An M&M 3e game I'm calling Emerald City Squires, as the players are playing teens that are adapting to their new powers after the activation event that's been named the Silver Storm.
"And now, my friends, a Dragon\'s toast!  To life\'s little blessings:  wars, plagues and all forms of evil.  Their presence keeps us alert --- and their absence makes us grateful." -T.A. Barron[/SIZE]

Robyo

We can only gather maybe twice a month or less. We have rotating GM's too.

Running: OSR sci fi kitbash of space marines scenarios using gear from Hulks & Horrors and classes from Starships and Spacemen. Monsters of my own devising.

Playing: B/X heavily houseruled. It's been fun, but very Vietnam style. We are switching to DCC soon and I am excited.

PencilBoy99

12 sessions into The Darkening of Mirkwood, using The One Ring

5e Dragon Queen campaign and prepping for a Mythras game now that's winding down.

Running two D&D 5E games, one more or less according to the Starter Set, and another completely homemade setting and adventures.  The latter has one thing I haven't done before:  It's almost entirely sandbox now, but started as semi-plotted adventures, with me telling the players that the "training wheels come off at 5th level."  We had some new players that had never done sandbox before, and thought we'd try the training wheels option instead of, "After you lose 3 or 4 PCs, you'll figure it out" method.
