This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Swag is ok, as long as it looks good. I've seen so many mythic-type dragons sported on shirts that I've long grown tired of them.
EDIT: Look above. I edited to quote you earlier, but you might have missed.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

This is a category were we meet: aesthetically it would need to be of high quality. And in aesthetics, one might wish to avoid cliches to a certain degree.

Sure, as does an hyperbolic criticism.  I mean, think what you want - obviously I cared enough to make a comment, but I don't care enough to worry about whether you agree with me or not.

Quote from: SeanchaiI agree with what you're saying for the most part, particularly about them being well-intentioned. However, that's not enough. I don't want just a well-intentioned police force. I want one that even-handedly enforces the laws. I want one that knows what said laws are. I want a police force that's accountable if they screw up. I want a police force that has a culture where screwing up isn't acceptable.

What we have at TBP is moderators high fiving each other when they say something particularly nasty when they ban someone or close a thread. And it infects the good guys who join the team.

I do hope I haven't been infected yet. :)

You're a great example of what mods at TBP should be -- and I'm not saying that simply to flatter you. That said, as much as I disagree with Seanchai on other issues, I think he has most of TBP mod staff nailed with the quoted comment (i.e., it seems that it's not about moderating the forums most of the time, but about posturing amongst peers).

Quote from: Christmas ApeIt's a series of 'prophecies' from someone deep in the BSGdom, the things they were certain of, ending with "...and Gaeta will bone a dude".

This was apparently 'homophobic' because she's expressed a hatred of the character.

Which Eric believes because apparently, he can't tell the words "Gaeta" and "Gaius" apart, and is dead wrong about her opinion.

However, his mistaken impression is considered sufficient.

It's the first time I noticed that the rpg.net moderation assumes you're being aggressive and hostile if you don't police your language constantly. It's like talking RPGs at a sensitivity training class.

Actually ...I think some people on there just don't like Vipergrrl .
I just made that sig quote of hers  my NEW sigline over there - I just made Gaeta's potential lover gender neutral. Been using it at least 2 days now....so far NO warning for me.

Vipergrrl introduced me to the new BSG, which I was ignoring until her enthusiasm sold me.  She's alright in my book, the only faults she has lie in an occasional excess of enthusiasm and I would query if that's even a fault.

IF this thread lasts that long - then I'll get royally  DRUNK.

I'm not a "drinker" , at most 3 or 4 times a year : Birthdays and New Years Eve.  Rarely if ever find an alcoholic or mixed drink that tastes good to me.

However there was that batch of "Klingon Blood wine someone locally made a batch of. Thats stuff was actually"good" and had alcohol in it.

I can't answer nearly as well as you can...have you begun to act like some of the less virtuous moderators? I can't get into Tangency, which seems to generate the most obnoxious behavior from both the moderators and posters. (Of course, Tangency seems to be basically a cesspool, so I have no desire to read it...). I seem to remember you disappoint me with a sarcastic comment or two, but I could be misremembering.

I guess I'd ask, to you and all the moderators, if you're sarcastic, acerbic, etc. when posting, why? How does that kind of behavior from authority figures help RPGnet be a better place, which I am presuming to including being a friendlier, less sarcastic place to spend time?

Also, when you use your authority, are you going so to make RPGnet a better place or are you doing so to punish someone? If the latter, how does that really make the site better in the long run?

I used to hope for a ticket with hillary as prez and Obama as her VP, but I'm afraid that the republicans would see the magic key to wrecking it.

They'd spread propaganda that the campaign was "racist" as it had a black in a subservient position to a white, and get the stupid PC types to refuse to vote for it because it was "RACIST!!!"

As to a ticket with obama as prez and hillary as VP, the goddam conservatives would claim it was "SEXIST" as the female was in the subservient position to the male.

Now I could see a Hillary/Obama ticket with the understanding that obama is there as an understudy to gain experience points for being president. That might work.

Despite my affiliations, I'd vote for obama as prex just to piss off the fucking neocons, along with most posters on SJG's forums.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

But would they be fucking?

Now that'd be something to see. I'd buy that for a dollar.
