This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Neverwinter

Though neither of them come close to the awesomeness of City State of the Invincible Overlord.

Since we are limited to TSR/WOTC cities, I was always fond of Silverymoon in the Forgotten Realms setting.

If we were allowed to use 3rd party cities, then Freeport by Green Ronin. Pirates and Lovecraft style cults, two of my favorite fictional things. Its a pity they don't have a 5E version.

I never bought any campaign settings...I only know Threshhold because it was in Basic or Expert. I thought it was a pretty good set-up.

There's a fan-created map and layout with locations for Radigast City (a port city on the eastern shore of the Nyr Dyv) that is just gorgeous.  While minimal in detail, Rob Kuntz's map for Verbobonc is quite nice too.

I wish we'd gotten a "proper" City of Greyhawk map from Gary but...alas, what will never be.

Mcbobbo sums it up nicely.

I found it on Planewalker.com. I think it combines two official map pictures that came as posters in one of the box sets

Quote from: Shipyard Locked;829407Damn it tuypo1, spell checking, punctuation, capital letters, use them! We're not expecting perfection, everyone makes mistakes, but a minimum effort would allow us to take you more seriously.

Is there a reason you do this? Is English not your native language? Do you do all your forum posting from some tiny smartphone? Is this part of some covert research project into how people online respond to awful writing (hence your name)? Do you wear it like a badge of honor after constantly being insulted about it?

Honestly i really do try but for some reason i find it really hard to remember to use punctuation my memory is normally fine but it falls down on this one specific thing.

As for my name i did not even realize the pun when i first came up with it.
If your having tier problems i feel bad for you son i got 99 problems but caster supremacy aint 1.

Apology\'s if there is no punctuation in the above post its probably my autism making me forget.

Then it's either a learning disability or a matter of practice and scrupulous discipline. Find out if it's the former, and if it is, include a note about it in your sig so everyone around here stops unfairly rolling their eyes at your every post. If it's the latter, try harder so everyone around here stops justifiably rolling their eyes at your every post.

This was always a favorite of mine as well, although I did really like Sanctuary too!
Blackmoor grew from a single Castle to include, first, several adjacent Castles (with the forces of Evil lying just off the edge of the world to an entire Northern Province of the Castle and Crusade Society's Great Kingdom.

Oh, sure, disqualify all my actual favorites. :P

For official D&D settings, city-wise:

1) Lankhmar - While I didn't think it the greatest adaption (to AD&D or from the books), since I'm a huge Lankhmar fan, this ranks up at the top (almost grudgingly).

2) Sigil - almost slipped my mind.

3) Glantri (Known World)

4) Sharn (Eberron)

Oh, c'mon, just look at his user name. Then ignore list.

I think that The City State of the Invincible Ovelord by Judge's Guild should be allowed to count due to it being the first mass published.

but if I've got to go with TSR/WOTC, then I always had a liking for Highmoon in Deeping Dale, though in the 1st and 2nd ed it was a bit small to be a city.  Lankhmar was pretty nifty and useful.
