This will, obviously, fund in no time.

I like some of the ideas, like the create characters from cards mechanism, but the system as a whole seems a bit cluttered with gimmicks and the plot/setting seems a bit "meh", to me. And it's pretty expensive with s&h'n'all.

Any ol' MR•H fans chipping in?

No, but I will kickstarter a legal name change instead of that*ridiculous name of*his.

Some aspects of the game sound interesting, like the card character generation (pick 7 cards and poof you play). The dice mechanic is confusing. This is obviously a spin on some of the concepts of Masquerade, so whether that's going to compare well or not to its predecessor, I don't know.

thedungeondelver

also is this even an rpg, or is it like whfrp3e, a thing masquerading as an RPG but in fact some card/boardgame/storygame hybrid and should be moved to the appropriate forum?

Eh....zombies.

Not that appealing at all, and his name doesn't really carry any weight with me either.

We'll see what they offer their backers...but the current trend on KS is that you pay more instead of less to be part of their glorious launch.

Skip.

Quote3. Bump Chips provoke a whole new kind of game play, one centered around real human emotions and situations. The remind good roleplayer to express their character emotions instead of just their words and thoughts, and encourages the other to at least try. You've never experienced anything quite like Bump Chips.

What a load of horseshit.
Yeah, but who gives a fuck? You? Jibba?

Well congrats. No one else gives a shit, so your arguments are a waste of breath.

Sounds quite similar to Vampire, but with cards instead of a character sheet, though you could use a character sheet instead, you combine 2 traits for pools, roll d6 instead of d10 in pools, and some chips thrown in for good measure, though the use of the chips doesn't seem to be mentioned, unless I missed something.

Heh. This IS the guy who wrote Vampire, you know. :D

Quote from: Levan Mania;662139It’s a game where you take a role of a lucid Zombie, oppressed and hounded by the government organizations, who try and control the outbreaks.

Why would you want to play this? Where is the connection between a Player and the character of a lucid zombie? Is this just some bizarre sociopolitical commentary?

This whole lucid zombie concept just causes a big What The Fuck reaction from me. Being part of the courageous, noble oppressed is not new - and is really the basis for the X-Men and the Rebel Alliance, but zombies? What, has every other supernatural creature like Vampires and Werewolves become too common and zombies are popular right now?
"Meh."

The Zombie movie has become it's own genre over the last 4 or 5 years really. Within the last year or two, the zombie as protagonist has even become a niche in the genre. Shit, British and French tv have had recent series based on the zombie as returnee/misunderstood teen etc.

Doesn't make it fun, but i can understand given his previous work at WW as to why this is being undertaken and even the timing of it.

One thing it isn't though, is trend-setting.

Hehehe. There's actually a game that does this right, but I Am Zombie isn't it, at least not IMHO.

I think that's going to be the real problem, marketing-wise, for this game. I would expect it to do really good, and if it's a good game, I'm sure it might even be widely successful. I'd be surprised if it became a Classic, however.

Daddy Warpig

You know, just over a year ago I posted about Dead Man's Land, a zombie apocalypse setting for my own little action-movie RPG (still in development). On this board even, here.

I'd stack that setting up against his. IMHO.

I've read a ton of short stories featuring lucid zombies.
