This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Happy New Year, everyone. :)

What are your wishes of games you'd like play, run, campaigns you'd want to begin or finish, RPG-related projects you'd like to work on, anything that you might want to see come to be in the year 2013, as far as your RPG gaming and hobby are concerned?

I wish they all come true for each and everyone of you.

  • Running RQ6 Conan (sidelined due to etc)
  • Kicking off a Yggdrasil campaign (would normally use MRQ2 Vikings/RQ6/Mythic Iceland but I thought it was pretty cool)
  • Running Dragon Age once the last part comes out.
  • Running Shadowrun (temp on hold for a few more weeks)
  • Running a FFG40k campaign (been waiting for Only War)
  • Running HM5 (waiting for DMG and Mines of Chaos)
  • Playing Necromunda in a linked campaign structure
  • Playing in DM#1 campaign using homebrew rules
  • Playing in DM#2 campaign using same homebrew rules
  • Playing in DM#2 Eclipse Phase campaign
  • Playing in DM#3 AD&D, A&8, Shadowrun campaigns
  • Playing 40k whenever nothing else is happening
  • Playing in Ben's English AS&SH campaign

For my New Year, I'm going to continue working on Infinity, my own little action-movie RPG.

I'm also going to continue working on the various settings for Infinity:

  • Dead Man's Land, where you are the zombie.
  • Altered States, an alt-history urban fantasy technothriller (spies + techno-magic, in an alternate Earth).
  • Age of Legends, an urban fantasy superhero setting where the bound and amnesiac Powers of a ancient age fight to regain their former glory.
  • Storm Knights, my variant Torg campaign setting.
  • The Infinity Files. (Check in tomorrow.)
It's a lot of work, but right now all I have is a lot of time. I may as well use it.

I'd like to complete at least one of my Rpg-games, so i can present it as complete to others ... if possible, i'd like to complete the basics of the whole multi-genre-project i have going currently (although most is "resting" at the moment), and complete 3+ basic games that may be mixed with eachothers.

.. I wonder if i'll ever manage it ...

I'd also like to GM and/or play them or something similar enough ..

I also have other projects i'd like to complete, but they are not rpgs, so i will not mention them here, unless asked.
I may not dislike D&D any longer, but I still dislike the Chaos-Lawful/Evil-Good alignment system, as well as the level system.
;)

Would be nice if Dragon Age set 3 came out soon. Kinda need all three boxed sets to properly run the game.

Even nicer would be if I could convince players to try it out.

I'm going to carry on GMing my current campaign of Other Worlds (this one's a fantasy epic) for probably another 2-3 months.

After that I'll be playing in the continuation of our D&D campaign, possibly for the last time using 4e.

If 5e comes out in 2013 I'm sure we'll play some of that. If it's rubbish I might see if my group are interested in switching over to 2e instead.

I'm hoping to be able to GM a session or two of MERP/Rolemaster, see what my group makes of it.

And I'm going to publish my space opera supplement for Other Worlds.
Buy Other Worlds, it\'s a multi-genre storygame excuse for an RPG designed to wreck the hobby from within

Happy New Year

I hope to finally finish the Call of Cthulhu campaign I'm still running for my regular group.
The next project for that group will be the (somewhat weird) 1867 western campaign I'm still preparing. I decided to use Savage Worlds for that instead of the grittier GDi.
Once that's been brought to a nice conclusion I plan on running Hollow Earth Expedition for them.

There are plans to also run some short games for a new group. People have expressed an interest in Call of Cthulhu and Leagues of Adventure. The latter will allow me to get acquainted with Ubiquity so running the Hollow Earth Expedition game for my regular group will be easier. I'll start with Call of Cthulhu, because my familiarity with the rules will allow me to concentrate on getting to know these new players.

I'd also like to give Savage World of Solomon Kane a try but there's no concrete plans for that yet. I may set this in the colonial era and use Colonial Gothic and Precis Intermedia's Colonial Record to flesh out the setting. Then again, I may decide to just run it straight out of the corebook first.

Another long term plan is to run a space opera with HardNova II.

Stupid pathfinder.

I stopped buying any new Dragon Age rpg stuff shortly after its initial release in 2010, when I came to the realization it was taking forever for set 2 to be published.  (Never mind set 3).

Another big factor was that I wasn't able to find anybody local who was interested in playing set 1.

The long publishing delay times between the box sets, very much killed off any remaining enthusiasm I had for it at the time (circa late 2010).

  • It looks as if I'll be giving Savage Worlds a try, so I'll be going through all of that.
  • Fine-tune my 1867 setting.
  • Keep playing in our Pathfinder game.
  • Play around more with Novus.
  • Get back to Gen Con to cover it once again!

We've been doing a lot of single-shot modules for AD&D1e, and I expect that to continue.  Finished ToEE a while back, I expect something else is brewing.

Heaven's Shadow is due by the end of this month, and so I'm going to try and get some crash playtesting going and weedle some more feedback from my playtesters.

After release I'll be revisiting Hulks and Horrors and working on expanding the original draft and adjusting the numbers a bit.
