This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

At 58%, in the sense that I too like to choose between different options to model what my character is about through the rules, occasionally, sure. And man, you should have seen the cheese we played with sometimes in Vampire. My outrageous optimization days were really outrageous. I broke the game with 3 points of discipline once (Serpentis 1 and Thaumaturgy 2, with Spirit Thaumaturgy 1 as the automatic path, 2nd ed Vampire the Masquerade, for the curious).

Setites are my favorite. And Serpentis 1 was amazing.

I am adopted.

*grins*. Serpentis 1, Eyes of the Serpent, works as a conflict of Willpower, i.e. the victim rolls, you roll, and if you are victorious the victim is paralized for X turns. The way Spirit Thaumaturgy 1 works, Evil Eye it's called, basically allows you to roll a ... manipulation + occult diff. 8 I think, and each success you score is a botch on the victim's next roll. You see where this is going?

Its heading towards a Setite owning someone!

I had a great Setite that was a Cult leader before his embrace.

Shortly after I became a vampire I expanded my charity work to include a soup kitchen. We all must do our part to feed (on) the homeless!

LOL Yeah, I can see that working out nicely. Especially for a Setite. You know... "roots in the community", blood-bonding the homeless, and everything. :D

Hmm...I'm not really happy with my results. I don't like acting. I didn't find the questions to be answerable in the linear way they were intended. Perhaps I'm just being quarrelsome.

Remember this is a "Robin Laws" test made by whoever, so the focus will be story, of course, with the questions for the other sections not well crafted or done well.  For example, you didn't know you were Method Acting when you were roleplaying, did you?  :D
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

It is a burden to care so much about the poor and downtrodden. But there is hope for them to....improve themselves.

Pfft, watch this magic...

(Forgive me if the details are off a bit - it's been more than twenty years...)

Take Transdimensional Turtles and Mutants in Space.  Use the mutant rules to make a devolved Human, everything down to almost nothing.  Spend all the points to buy super powers from Heroes Unlimited - like Shape Change.  Then use the RIFTS conversion rules to select a class from HU, like Special Training, and opt via the rules in Ninjas and Superspies to select a Martial Art that gives automatic dodge, automatic parry, and multiple attacks.  I remember Aikido being popular.  Now convert the rest of the details to RIFTS.

We were gods in that setting, and THAT's saying something.

;)

Too true.

I am starting to wonder if roleplaying games would benefit from more rigorous academic style classification, or if that would kill the hobby.

You Scored as Method Actor

You think that gaming is a form of creative expression. You may view rules as, at best, a necessary evil, preferring sessions where the dice never come out of the bag. You enjoy situations that test or deepen your character's personality traits.

Lol, method actor, my ass.  But, yes, please keep your damn story the hell out of my game.  I'll make my own story, not follow some Collaborative story telling bullshit.

danskmacabre

This is fairly close.
I had a tie breaker and chose Storyteller as my favorite.

You Scored as Storyteller
You're more inclined toward the role playing side of the equation and less interested in numbers or experience points. You're quick to compromise if you can help move the story forward, and get bored when the game slows down for a long planning session. You want to play out a story that moves like it's orchestrated by a skilled novelist or film director.
