This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Mistwell;525452Depends on how much business they've done with them in the past.  We pay 30% up front, remainder on shipment, and lose the 30% if we were to cancel, in theory.  There's no formal contract, just an email exchange and an assumption that's how it works.  When we've done a lot of business with someone in China, they sometimes are willing to waive the 30% up front and just have us pay on shipment.

Thanks for the insight and explanation.

It sounds like a reasonable business practice.

Hence the smiley I was joking if it wasn't clear.  I did think the link was funny if a bit tasteless.  I hate the internet sometimes......

Actually, the author of the game used to hang out around here, so Marleycat can unleash her fury on the right direction :D
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

From what I heard, it was due to an error on the part of the printer.

Lol.  I haven't heard that since 2e.

Nevertheless, that's what it was.  Something to do with the process of remaking the pdf or whatever.  The point is that rather than release something that would have contained errors not present in the original books, they decided to postpone.  I think that's probably wise in that case, however regrettable the postponement is.  And believe me, I'm regretting it a lot because I was promised review copies!

Actually it looks interesting if taken in the right context. I'm not overly sensitive about such things because more often than not the subject has more than a grain of truth to it.

I fully support their decision to postpone.

The reprints have to look and feel awesome. Otherwise, WotC's laughable attempt to placate and recruit the OSR will be even more fruitless.

The "nostalgia lure" can be tricky, but it may pay off for them.
