There used to be lots when I was younger. In the early-mid 90's there was a lot of places all over. Mostly community based. Games Work Shop was on Queen. I think one of the guys that opened that place opened another MASSIVE store further down across from much music which is now that crape place. I remember that place being amazing. They had war gaming tables, arcade machines and awhole floor for rpg stuff. They also taught comic book drawing. Its a shame it closed. Can't remember the name even though I was there quite a lot in my teens. It had a good chunk of everything.

Young had a few places- not just Hairy T and 401.

There was the comic post in the junction- though the RPG selection there was on the weak side. Is that Hairy T west now?

Crossed Swords was another amazing one. It was PACKED. Mostly with only war gaming / rpg stuff. No comics or anything else.

Grey Region was another.

I think a lot of these places closed as the internet came around. It slowly dwindled down. By the time I got back into gaming (which was only awhile ago) I was completely surprised by how little there is left. I guess its just easier to order stuff from amazon.

The store was called Alternate Gravities. It closed because of a disagreement between the owners about what to do with the art studio upstairs, IIRC.
