This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm in this year.  I'm running my "1980s action comedy movie" Fudge adventure.  Other than that, I'm going on the Haunted Indianapolis walking tour on Friday night, just 'cause it sounds like a riot.

I'm really excited for the people going for the first time!

I'll be doing a few little Indy and show guides on my site--I'll link over to 'em when they're up, if they help.

I think this is going to be my one and only trip, so advice would definitely be appreciated.  I figure that I should go at least once, and since I have the ENnies thing going on this year I decided it was a good year to go.  Next year... who knows.  Kinda depends on how this one plays out.

I'm thinking about running a one-shot of Star Wars Saga Edition.

My problem is coming up with shorter adventures that can be played out in 5-6 hours without running over the time limit.

I have a hard time keeping it simple enough. I'm used to campaign or mini-series play where you have a session of intro and setup followed by a building development during play.

So if I come up with something simple and straightforward that doesn't seem too cliche to me, I might do it.

Well, my thing's always been to leave my schedule open, but look at the seminars and games, and buy a few generic tickets (for the games) so that if I'm not browsing or doing a demo in the dealer hall, I know there's a game of AD&D at 16:00 in the Westin Room Whatever, etc...

You also might want to hunt down the Tower of Gygax room and look at the schedule.  At some point, it's your chance to be cruelly slaughtered by an old TSR hand like Frank Mentzer or Tim Kask.

Are you staying by the convention, or driving in from further afield each day?

I don't know if this was a mistake or not but we'll be driving in from about nine miles out each day. I was able to get a discount with the Marriott chains and couldn't pass up $59 a night for a Courtyard room with a Kitchenette.

Is there a parking lot with a decent rate that is within a block or two of the convention center that anyone can recommend?

Totally sold on the Tower of Gygax now!

I've got a hotel attached to the convention center via my girlfriend's employer, so no driving for me.

That's a pretty good rate.

There's good parking in several places.  The White River Garage is really close, and not too expensive.

Hey Zachary - If I go up there Saturday , can I be your camera work and blogging assistant?

That way you get more shots of 'YOU' interacting with folks.

 Just a thought.

Your choice if I wore the forehead & wig or not.

Oh, I likes my spot behind the camera.  People don't want to see my mug, they want gaming products, sexy dice displays, and hawt chicks attempting to look interested in what they've been rented to promote.  Saturday's actually the day I run my Microlite74 game and my GM's Jam Seminar, but I'd love to hang out for a bit in between!  We have quite the posse this year!  Maybe even hit up a session of Tower of Gygax!

Better you than me Ed. Better you than me. :)

To re-state:

Yes I'm trying to go there.

Not sure if just for one day or more than one day.
This all depends on scheduling where I work.

Saturday I'm pretty sure I'll be there.
