Quote from: Spike;377991Hey! Nothing in the rules says you have to use a small weapon. If you are THAT damn sneaky, go for it.

Also: I've seen a movie where the thief sucessfully backstabs a dude in a tavern with a ballista.

Fuck you and your weapon-sizism, I won't stand for that shit here!

That'd be "The Gamers" - a deliberate RPG parody.
Personally I don't really mind people backstabbing/sneak attacking with awl pikes either, though; I'd always thought of it as just being a better knowledge of vital points.

I actually prefer systems where your to-hit success add to your damage somehow, which instantly and automatically factors in extra damage for catching a foe with their pants down.

Of course, having given out magic Halbards, Guissarmes, and a few long-style bec-di-corbins...sometimes the PCs aren;t thrilled with my diversity.
Currently running 1 live groups and two online group in my 30+ year old campaign setting.

\'Orbis non sufficit\'

My current Collegium Arcana online game, a test for any ruleset.

Doom

I coulda swore Vault of the Drow or one of the giant modules had a +1 bardiche in there somewhere. Don't spose anyone has those handy?

A nice education blog.

I'm just going to chime in and mention that my players still make human PCs.  But then, they aren't all that big into the optimization thing anyhow (hell, one plays a wilden).
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

Of course the races are unbalanced! Just check the weight tables. You stick one of them on this end of the see-saw and another one on the other end...

*Runs* :D
The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.

Ah...how fast the posters grow. I remember when Narf started here, he could barely snark his way past his own name. Now look at him. Aos and I are very proud...
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.
