This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Permit me a moment to preen a bit.

The Shaman

A couple of months back, I found a comment posted on the Flashing Blades Yahoo group in response to a thread about my campaign wiki, Le Ballet de l'Acier.
Quote from: Mark Pettigrew, designer of Flashing BladesJust wanted to say that I'm blown away by the incredible detail of this campaign setting. Simply amazing!
Needless to say, I was pretty excited to read that. With his permission, I added it to the front page of my wiki.

Yeah, showing off is unseemly, but there it is.
On weird fantasy: "The Otus/Elmore rule: When adding something new to the campaign, try and imagine how Erol Otus would depict it. If you can, that\'s far enough...it\'s a good idea. If you can picture a Larry Elmore version...it\'s far too mundane and boring, excise immediately." - Kellri, K&K Alehouse

That site's marvellous, and you should definitely be preening.

Have there been many adventures so far?

Also, if I run FB, would you mind if I borrowed some of your houserules?  I'll credit you on the game wiki (we have a wiki for each game we play) obviously.

Not yet. I'm in the midst of a career change, so I've been taking classes for the past several months and now I'm taking slew of tests, applying for jobs, and so forth. I can't commit to a face-to-face group right now, in no small part because I have no idea what kind of schedule I'll have in the next few months. And if all goes according to plan, I'll be in an intensive six-month program next year.

I'm considering running a play-by-post, a sort of short, one-shot adventure. In my experience the excruciatingly slow pace of pbp makes running a long-term campaign an exercise in futility, but something with a tight focus might work. I might also run a couple of one-shots for a local gaming meetup, but I think a regular campaign will probably be off the table for some time to come, unfortunately.

Please be my guest.

Congratulations, if I were you I would be very proud.
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

Nihil sine magno labore vita dedit mortalibus.

And by your sword shall you live and serve thy brother, and it shall come to pass when you have dominion, you will break Jacob's yoke from your neck.
