Well, my bid on a copy of 3rd Edition got sniped with literally 4/100ths of a second to spare.

So instead I ordered a 2e boxed set from Troll and Toad's store that just popped up yesterday.

I'd rather have the 3e rules (I like the sound of some of the changes made, they largely seem for the best), but 2e really did have the best set of included bits ever.

Crap, that's one less copy I have a chance to get my hands on now.  Dammit all to hell.

I remember the ads in Dragon piqued my interest.  The doubling system seemed pretty intuitive for DC heroes even at that tender age.

I have a copy of DC Heroes 3rd edition I am trying to trade off.  The cover's fairly worn, but the insides are great.

I would post a trade list up here, but I'm never sure where one would do that at this site...=P

You could post it here in this thread.  I might be interested still, especially in a straight across trade.  I'm not sure I'll have anything for you, but I won't know until you specify really.

I'm thinking I might have to.  Not sure I know enough people around here anymore to run something locally.  

Setting wise, I do figure on tying into the DCU somehow, but it's a matter of whether to use it directly, or go for an Elseworlds or post-Crisis alternate universe.

Let me know when. I've got the 3rd Ed book and the Batman stand alone RPG, and am more than happy to play using the system. As long as its more IRC/chat than PBP...(PBP is sooooo sloooooow..)

Got my DC Heroes 2e box today.

Absolutely prestine.  The box itself is a hair faded, but the contents are 100 percent in tact.  Original dice, character cards still in shrinkwrap, action wheel, all the books, even the order card for Mayfair Games with the ad for Chill on the back.  

Fuckin' rad.  This thing's in better shape than the one I played as a kid.  

Despite its quirks, DC Heroes is definitely one of the really great RPG designs.
