Looks like the message boards are crashing intermittently.

Last time that happened, it was because there was way too much traffic (back when Wizards yanked its PDFs from the place, IIRC).

I just thought that was an interesting occurence as GenCon unfolds.

It looks like the entire Paizo web server is down.  Can't even get on to the main front page.

It's because the $10 Pathfinder PDF drops today. They said on the front page that the boards would be disabled because of anticipated traffic.

Looks like demand is high.

I think it'll be interesting to see how the sales of that go, and how many of the thousands of copies in their little Pathfinder Mountain at Gencon end up selling by the end of the weekend.

Bought my PDF today. Pre-ordered the hardcover from Amazon.

I predict a Gencon sellout.

I bought my copy today at Gencon.  If you buy the hardcopy the offer to sell you the .pdf for $5 (which I declined due to my disdain of .pdfs)

I'd project right now it'll be a sellout.

My sources among the planes say Pathfinder will sell out at GenCon.

Well, obviously they are afraid of WOTC's $5 PHB deal

I think the $5 PDF deal is a good thing and I am glad they are doing it.

But, the lack of decrying negativity over this PDF deal is yet another example of the hypocrisy of some folks on this board.  If WOTC announces news, some folks will spin it negative no matter what.  But Paizo boards crash and they have an unexpected $5 sale with a purchase, and people view both as positive (which they may be).  Never mind that when each of those things happened with WOTC, those same people blasted them for it.

I do like Paizo.  I buy a lot of their stuff.  And if someone wants to play Pathfinder, I am happy to play it.  I may even buy the PDF.  Likely in fact.  

I am just tired of the bashing of games and gaming companies.  I am tired of WOTC announcing they are giving something away for free, for fun, like a fucking backpack or something, and them STILL being bashed for it (not you, over at EnWorld that happened).  In sum, I am tired of the edition warriors who think it is their duty to bash the company or game they do not play/support, rather than simply praising what they do like.

And you are a major offender Benoist.  If WOTC had announced a $5 PDF deal with purchase, you would be in the front line finding some lame reason to bash them for it.  But Paizo does it, and you distract by bashing me for genuinely praising it, essentially calling me a liar.
