This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Best Urban Fantasy Adventure ever?

And to complete my little trilogy of threads, what was the best fantasy adventure ever published taking place in an Urban setting?

And why?

Universal Brotherhood. (Although that may not qualify as what you think of as Urban Fantasy, but it's what I think of when you say "Urban Fantasy".)

Great writing. Great Plot. Earth shattering ramifications, but a street level scope. What more could a GM want in a Game?

Power Behind the Throne for WFRP by quite a long way.

The reason why is that it is built from the ground up to take advantage of the differences that an urban environment makes on an adventure. It consists of 15 or so detailed NPCs, a timetable of events and an opening and climax. However, beyond that, the material is really inspired. The story is very good and the characters well drawn.

I'm going to recommend City of Skulls for 2e Greyhawk. Carl Sargent's work gets a lot of venom from dedicated GH fans, but I think this is a killer product that combines a clear goal with an open ended approach, lots of nasty villains and a nice keeping/losing cover system to impress that dithering is a bad plan. I think it got tapped in Dungeon's greatest adventures, but I don't know if the fanbase has the same kind of love for it.

I'd actually Spires of Altdorf, probably.  That one rocked.

For me, it's not really an adventure, but a setting.  I really like the AD&D versions of Lankhmar.  Not so much for the system bits, but the wealth of detail you had available to you made running off-the-cuff adventures in the city itself a breeze.  Even the non-Leiber NPCs were fun.  Pity they never finished the gazzetteer books detailing the individual city sections.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

That's, ironically, how I got started into real gaming. I had previously purchased Ravenloft-but a guy I went to grade school with had an older brother in Middle School who was running a Lankhmar game. My first few sessions I was a player, but then I ran a game, and everyone liked it. I was hooked in an instant, and have run games ever since then!

Wait. Wait.

Do you mean adventures for fantasy settings that are set inside a city? Or do you mean Urban Fantasy?

Cause... I got lost for a bit there.
"Tony wrecks in the race because he forgot to plug his chest piece thing in. Look, I\'m as guilty as any for letting my cell phone die because I forget to plug it in before I go to bed. And while my phone is an important tool for my daily life, it is not a life-saving device that KEEPS MY HEART FROM EXPLODING. Fuck, Tony. Get your shit together, pal."

Hmmm. This one's tougher. Most of the best urban adventure experiences I have had have been homebrewed.

This may be cheating, but Necromancer Games City of Brass. Set in a huge otherworldly city, with lots of seeds, different ways it can go. Can be played with a good or evil party. And lots of sinister encounter areas.

I also have a fondness for Mad God's Key (though only the first half is urban... and the way I ran it very much adjusted it to the unique nature of the city I was running it in) and the Mask of Diamond Tears. The pages of (print, Paizo-era) Dungeon mag has a lot of good urban fare, come to think of it.

Mad God's Key: The Dock chase is a lot of fun, and can bring a lot of the environment into play. The diseased thieves guild is an interesting area to run it.

Mask of Diamond Tears: Involved a jilted guard captain (romance!) and some cool planar wackiness.
The Secret Volcano Base: my intermittently updated RPG blog.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

I think reading the OP beyond the title answers this pretty succinctly:

Chimes at Midnight. It's like the lovechild of D&D and Batman: The Animated Series.

I was told reading would not be involved.
