This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So...I want a Wild West gam with Mecha. I was thinking BESM...but I'd actually prefer something more along the lines of Palladium or True 20.

Any ideas?

There were some FFG D20 books in the Horizon line - one called Mechamorphosis and one called Spellslinger. I guess you could pick those up and combine them in some way.

Or you could look at the 1PG line - Six Gun and Exosuit AOK would combine Ok.

Or, if you could find GOOs old Mecha SRD, you could use it with something like Sidewinder, OGL Wild West (Mongoose) or my very own Go Fer Yer Gun!

There might be options with Coyote Trail too.

That's all I got.

Try Castle Falkenstein's Six Guns & Sorcery, which I'm currently using...it's more steamtech than mecha, though....

Would you like to playtest? I've got about two pages of my ACE system written up (*LOL*) but it's at the "alpha" playtest stage. It's first setting (and the first publishable version) will be called Vast Frontiers and be a western themed mecha game.  (Of course I go for small mecha in this, about the size of a volkswagon beetle on its nose with short arms and legs

There is Space Travel using the "Line", a few people can get space ships for their own. Mecha take the role of gun and horse for planetary use, while slower ships (than the "Line") can become the "horse" for planet to planet jumping.

It is meant to be quickly used system powered by cards. (Vast frontiers uses playing cards) its got a lot of work before its a "complete" system, but you might try it out and take it for a spin if you aren't in a rush--I could get something readable together in a week or two.

Other than that BESM (at least as of 2E) was a fine system for mecha, and easy enough to do a western setting.

One of the True 20 "winners" of the setting contest finally got Mecha Vs Kaiju out--which supposedly in the full version has the ability to build mecha, which would be very useful for you if that's true (you might ask around as I've not picked it up.)

Palladium doesn't have a mecha system  I'd see as suitably Western (however I'm not sure about Rifts western themed source book Spirit West? I think.)

If you wanted the Heroes Unlimited game has a mecha pilot options (under Robots of all things) that does have some flexibility in builds (also tends towards small mecha--10-12's robots iirc)
