The only anthropomorphic game I ever played was Usagi Yojimbo. Rabbit Samurai and Cat Ninja worked in that setting.

Does the setting allow for it? Yes? Then its up to the DM to say if they fit or not in their campaign. Just do not come across as some sort of neo-nazi wanna-be.
