This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What Board / Card Games are you playing right now?

I finally got my hands on '88' by James Day.  This game was published by Yaquinto in 1980, as the 2nd? game in the series of Panzer(which i also snagged).  Its a tactical armor combat game in the Western Desert WW2.

I really liked MBT when Avalon Hill published it.  MBT is the same system, slightly simplified, using hidden inverted counters for commands rather than the original written moves, a larger scale 100m instead of 50m per hex.  I was going to make my own 88 game essentially from MBT, but then found the designers old games.  Fortuitous.

BUT OMG is the data card small, the font is like 4pt, its SOOOO tiny.

I am scanning the cards at 1200 dpi so I can reprint them onto something legible.
I had much better eyes in 1980.

The newest Panzer by GMT and Jim Day is even more simplified.  But the cards and font are much bigger.

Tiny Epic Dungeons (plus painting the minis)

Aeon's End (custom expedition)

Marvel Champions (working through NeXt Age with Cable and Storm)

Might break out Black Plague this weekend.

Picked up a little quirky game called Cartographers.  You fill in a grid on a map to score points that satisfies the Queen's edicts.  Its got a bit of that Tetris feel since you drawing blocks from random cards, but there is also a strategy element as you are working on current and future scoring plans.  Cartographers is simple to play but has a hidden depth to it.  1-4 players

I've been playing a lot of Through the Ages with my SO. It keeps getting better in each play. Fantastic game. I can see some design similitudes with Mage Knight Board Game, another one from Vlaada Chvátil.
Play according to your principles.

My group got hooked on Ark Nova and I'm loving it, it is probably the most relaxing game I've ever tried. Just looking at all the beautiful animals on the cards and building a park is so soothing.

Solo I've been playing a lot of Rangers of Shadow Deep. Discovered it only recently and decided to put a lot of my unused miniatures to good use. Enjoying it heavily!

We play Netrunner in french (edge version) : so much fun in this asymetric card game !

I'm playing through Spire's End Hildegard with my girlfriend recently and it's really entertaining. I love the narrative it spins in such a convenient package.

CorvusCarpus

I recently discovered Stationfall
A dozen very different characters are stuck in a freefalling space station, you have 13 minutes (ea. turns) to get the better of the situation which means very different things depending of who you are. It is a bit complex but always intuitive and well thought.

I've been playing a lot of Dice Throne lately. It's a really fun 1v1 game that I can highly recommend!

There's also a campaign option - Dice Throne Adventures, which can be played cooperatively with up to 4 people.

After a break of almost a year, we played Twilight Imperium again today. Damn, I like it, but every time I play it I just get reminded why I also hate it. Literally played ten hours straight and didn't finish it lol.

It's been a little over two years since we last played TI. However, one of the players that likes it the most just got his own box for Christmas, so I have a feeling we'll be playing it again soon.

That is exactly why I refuse to play that game ever again.

I'm trying to get back into Yu Gi Oh, but I have the official Pokemon tcg mobile app on my phone these days as well. I'm not very good but I really love Pokemon.

I dug up all my defunct CCGs, and Magic: The Gathering, which to me is defunct anyway.  Thousands of Magic cards!  But a lot of other gems.  7th Sea, Young Jedi, which I played heavily, Jedi Knights, WWE Raw Deal, Dragon Booster, Austin Powers, Star Trek CCG, Wars TCG, Transformers 3D card game, American Idol, believe it or not, Hack/Enemy, Spy Craft, 24 Trading Card Game, Lord of the Rings, and more.  I pulled out the Trek one.  I have a deck ready, and my brother made a deck, but he died and we never played it.  We're going to be playing a lot of CCGs in the next few weeks, but we're going to start with Star Trek, with my wife playing my brother's deck.  I have about 3000 7th Sea cards, and that was a relly solid game, so that's next up.

Been playing Machi Koro for family night for a while now. Pretty fun, especially with the harbor expansion that adds in another player.
