This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So in Sword & Caravan in the appendix, in addition to the road travel, encounters, and city events tables, I have a bunch of 'flavor' style inspiration tables for the setting. They are:

Random Aristocrats
Random Caravanserais
Random Mercenaries
Random Merchants
Random Pleasure House
Random Ruins
Random Scholars/Sages
Random Sufis
Random Tribesmen
Random (small) Village

So those are the ones already published. I'm starting to work on a short supplement that will include some random encounter tables (for wilderland areas off-road), and I was thinking about whether to add on any other tables in the style of those above.

So if any of you have a suggestion, please feel free to share!

Random shrine/temple/holy place?

Random thing half buried in the sand (weapon, obelisk, hut, cart, famous persons corpse, amphora, book, foreign cultural item, religious icon).

Random person who needs help out in the remotest part of the wilderness (runaway princess, enemy warrior, small child with dead adult guardian, a simple peasant with a nonsensical reason for being there, an archaeologist, a foreigner from very far away).
I'm glad for you if you like the top selling game of the genre.  Me, I like the road less travelled, and will be the player asking we try a game you've never heard of.
