Someone should trademark #sworddream before little Danny does.

You know what?  That vile piece of shit can stay there for all I care.  I won't purchase any Sword Dream books because they are just going to focus on being woke and virtue signal.

Zweihander Shill Guy and Sword Dream are a match made in haven. The sooner he stops associating with old-school gaming the better.

His game is not even old school.  It has story game mechanics written in it that is seriously lame.  Like you used energy to cast a fireball and suddenly all the enemies in the room got one more energy point because a white player chip got converted over to a black gm chip.  Then there is the fate points that allow rerolls.  None of that is old school yet those are core mechanics in his game.

So they want non-OSR-styled games to be considered OSR but called SwordDream. Riiight. Good luck with that. It's not even fun to laugh at them, some things are so bad they're funny, this is simply bad. I'm already bored with this SwordDream and disappointed with SJWs, they usually provide more funny content.

I think it's good to have this branding to know what to avoid.

The sad part is if they kept quiet and not made a fuss about being so much "better" than the regular OSR no would have noticed let alone cared. Now because they just had to show how SJW and Woke they are the whole effort to myself at least is a joke. Personally the closest I would get to OSR is 1E D&D yet if I was into OSR I would not buy. Simply because it seems politics rather than products is the focus of the new so called better branch of the OSR.

Lurtch

Sword Dream will create zero products and will be dead as a movement in a month. People forget that the OSR was creating product for years before the branding even was a thing. A top down movement that is explicitly based on gate keeping won't last.

kanePL

Yeah, besides, it does not change anything in my life. I'm gonna buy game if it's good, not whether I'm ok with author's politics. But if they focus on politics, the products will probably suffer like it is with computer games lately. And when I see OSR logo at least I know what is the content of the game, or at least I'm aware of general shape of it. With SwordDream (man, that's cringy name) I have no idea what to expect from it beside too many pronouns and virtue signalling. So far at least. To sum up, move along, nothing to see here...

I just really, really hope Pundit was the only person eating that soup. The germaphobe in me was having serious issues with all the hacking while watching him make soup lol.
The more clichéd my group plays their characters, the better. I don't want Deep Drama™ and Real Acting™ in the precious few hours away from my family and job. I want cheap thrills, constant action, involved-but-not-super-complex plots, and cheesy but lovable characters.

the first wednesday of every month, the local game store has a GM support meeting, I mentioned the first session I went to a while back. it was the one where the women of the town were being kidnapped by goblins and one player got upset because his 'I identify as female' character wasn't taken as part of the round up.

anyway, one of the people there tonite was telling us how we all need to support the Sworddream, even if he was kicked out for being a cis-hetero male

And this is why these matters are worthy of being discussed, the woke have a long time infiltrating academia and brainwashing people there, from there it spreads and now (for a few decades but still more recent than the academia) our hobbies are under attack.

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

"Your characters stumble upon the lair of a cis-red dragon.  It was born red, and it breathes fire; and everyone has always called it a red dragon.  It accepts its labeling as a red dragon at birth, so it is therefore a cis-red dragon."

"Oh,........ nevermind.  While I was explaining all of that, it ate your characters."
I need you to roll a perception check.....

So who are the fucknuts behind this idiocy?

Just the usual Twitter moron brigade or do they actually have published authors?
