This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: KoltarBetcha that by 2027 there are RPG rules available to go with HEROSCAPE miniatures and terrain pieces.

That thing may hang on for quite awhile.

Heroscape is a lot of fun.

I played it for the third time on friday night. It is very simple, but at the same time a really absorbing. next year when my older son gets a bit better at reading/following rules I think I'll get him a set.

anyone else played this game?
You are posting in a troll thread.

I have all of the terrain sets that came out, and I'm drooling over the chance to get the Rise of The Marro master set that's coming out this year.

Heroscape is a great entry in the mini games market. It's quite affordable, has fun pieces, great terrain, and scalable difficulty. The odd (or maybe not) thing is that I think the game's biggest market is adults looking for a beer and pretzels wargame and not kids.
Running: Dogs of WAR - Beer & Pretzels & Bullets
Planning to Run: Godbound or Stars Without Number
Playing: Star Wars D20 Rev.

I got Heroscape from my wife for Christmas two years ago, and have loved it. In fact, my 8-yr old daughter watched us playing and has since picked up most of the game (she has trouble remembering to use special powers sometimes), and now begs me every weekend for a game.

Fun stuff.

BTW, you do know about LandSCAPE, the ultra-useful battlefield editor, right?

Dr Rotwang!

My wife keeps waiting to find a basic set for cheap. It has her attention.  As soon as our daughter's a little older, I think it'd grab her, too...she likes little toy monstermen and stuff.

It's so completely worth it.  And fun!

I haven't played my set in over a year, but before then I played it almost every week for about a year straight.

I play it often. It's huge big fun. I've been playing often since it came out, and it's no less fun. No one's more surprised than me. :)
Employment Counselor: So what do you like to do outside of work?
Oblivious Gamer: I like to play games: wargames, role-playing games.
EC: My cousin killed himself because of role-playing games.
OG: Jesus, what was he playing? Rifts?

Rezendevous

I've only played it once after I got the basic set, but that alone was enough to make me pick up three or four of the expansion packs.

The kids in my neighborhood are crazy for Heroscape.

Hexes! Who knew they could have mass appeal?
