This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Played:
DCC
LotFP
S&W
LL
SWN
Mazes & Minotaurs

Run:
LotFP
DCC

Want to play:
Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea, though most of my knowledge and desire to play it comes from the name and cover images... and being a fan of Clark Ashton Smith's stories.

Quote from: CRKrueger;1033308Spears of the Dawn (SoD) - Love this game.  Major project I'm working on when I have time is a Hyperborean Black Kingdoms campaign with Mythras incorporating the SoD ideas.
That sounds most excellent!
I've been reading Nyambe, with Spears of the Dawn next on the list... and wishing for more African fantasy.

It's Pundit:). That's part of his "schtick".

Piece of advice, it helps, when reading his posts, to imagine him like someone who's cossplaying a character from a spaghetti Western;).

kobayashi

Lamentations of the Flame Princess (longest campaign) and Sword & Wizardry White Box (mostly one-shots), but I don't run OSR or D&D based games anymore (nothing wrong with the games, just wanted a change of pace).

Robyo

Ran a short campaign of Castles & Crusades. Ran several encounters using Starships & Spacemen, but reskinned as Colonial Marines.

Player in games of in LotFP, and FH&W/Dark Albion.

Atsuku Nare

Planning an ACK game right now. Trying to get my head around the system they use for hit throws. It's just different enough from THAC0 or a base attack bonus to make me throw one wheel off the rail. I must be getting old.

I may try LotFP at some point. I want to pick up Lion & Dragon and give it a read, since I have all the Dark Albion books. Otherwise, I may use the retro-clone of Warhammer, Zweihander.
Playing: 1st-ED Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (Elf Wizard), D&D 5E, halfling thief
Running: nothing at present
Planning: Call of Cthulhu 7E, Adventurer Conqueror King, Warhammer FRP 4E, Torg: Eternity
On Hiatus: Earthdawn, Shadow of the Demon Lord

Castles and Crusades
Dark Albion/Fantastic Heroes and Witchery
Lion and Dragon
Dungeon Crawl Classics
Mazes and Minotaurs
27th Edition Platemail (cheating...I wrote it!)
Balrogs and Bagginses (...and this one as well)

I don't count Swords and Wizardry, Labyrinth Lord and other stuff that is just re-branded OD+D, BD+D or 1E, but if you do add a couple of those

I'll have to dig them up and re post them. I've always been kind of conservative about spreading around stuff that is on shaky ground, IP wise, so I prefer to just send a google doc link to individuals who express interest rather than put up a permanent site.

Motorskills

ACKS
Labyrinth Lord
DCC
Torchbearer

All fine I guess, but not what I want from my gaming these days.
"Gosh it's so interesting (profoundly unsurprising) how men with all these opinions about women's differentiation between sexual misconduct, assault and rape reveal themselves to be utterly tone deaf and as a result, systemically part of the problem." - Minnie Driver, December 2017

" Using the phrase "virtue signalling" is \'I\'m a sociopath\' signalling ". J Wright, July 2018

Séadna

Ran a campaign that was a Labyrinth Lord/Lamentations mix, with some Lion and Dragon at the end. Bit of Al Qadim as well.

Hey, it sounded like a western game, an OSR western game, and I'd never heard of it. I don't know if you're aware but I'm quite the fan of the wild west (currently running a campaign in its 2nd year set in the historical wild west using Aces & Eights). I was surprised I didn't know (or didn't remember) this game's existence.

It's the kind of thing I'd be happy to receive a review-copy of.

Given my tastes, a better comparison might be to Tombstone, Deadwood, or (obviously) Gangs of New York.
