SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What to do when you see a spam post

I understand people like to have their fun but please remember that spammers aren't likely to hang around to read witty replies, much less be people in the first place.

So if you care to reduce the impact of spammers on this place and their ability to annoy and distract your fellow RPGsite readers, please don't respond to them. Just report them and be done with it. Responding to them keeps their thread alive so they appear near the top of the threads lists (and in the "new posts" list for people who use that feature).

I usually report them and leave a remark that they're been reported as spam to keep more people from flooding the mods with superfluous spam reports.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

arminius

That makes sense although maybe the mods could weigh in on whether they care one way or the other.

joewolz

I usually just report them, I didn't think of posting to show that it had been done already.

Reporting spambots is usually the best thing to do, IMHO.

I ignore them. The moderation is so active here that there's no need to report anything. At best you'll get the thread deleted four seconds sooner than it would have been.

Roughly half of the spam I zap is directly due to getting a report, so please keep the reports coming!
