And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Obscene Emoticons

Can the moderators please remove the obscene emoticons?  Besides being unnecessary, the one used in the recent thread about Poison'd in the Off-Topic group is about as vile as the things listed in those Poison'd actual play threads.  Do we really need to be crapping on our own lawn here?

I, for one, think it should be extended. Surely some of our posters could use a teabagging smiley. And I know there are threads that remind me of bukkake.

And to complete the set, they should add a "decapitate the cabin boy and rape the corpse smiley", right?

Yeah, we could probably do without the really fucked-up ones.

That smilie-vomiting-smilies is just for posters who want to hog the monitor, it's greedy.

I had no idea there were so many smilies. Who uses them?

TonyLB

I am half-ashamed to confess that I routinely use the sweat-drop smiley :sweatdrop:

I wish that I used the Hulkicon more often, for it SMASHES all other emoticons :incrediblehulk:

I like the eclectic variety, on the whole.  I do find the "love and sex" section a bit odd though.  So that's a big :emot-rock: for the general notion of many funky icons, but a  on some of the specific ones that have cropped up.

i go through phases with them.  sometimes (esp. if at work, faster connection) i'll poke around and use a bunch.  sometimes i'll just stick with the initial 18.

there does seem to be an almost excessive amount, tho.  the violence ones are fun, too :maniac: :verkill:

Is anyone actually in favor of keeping the obscene one(s)?

(Other than droog...)

I don't give a fuck about them, and find the polemic about them useless. How many times have those smileys come out? One? Two? Three? For fuck's sake.
