Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is Ghost Whistler banned now?

Did GW actually get banned, or has he just set it as his user title for shits/giggles? I'd checked through his recent posts and not noticed an actual ban notice following, just the Pundit post about his TBZ thread, but it could be I missed something elsewhere.

The Traveller

The avatar is gone too so it looks like an official banning. Might be wrong of course.
"These children are playing with dark and dangerous powers!"
"What else are you meant to do with dark and dangerous powers?"

I noticed that, but it's simple enough to unset your various user things yourself, and it's not like our host or his admins to ban an actual poster quietly.

I guess we'll see soon enough.

One Horse Town

I banned him earlier today.

Maybe i should have posted as such to his latest nonsense thread.

Sadly, as much as i've tried to reason with him in the past and he's been told to post threads to the correct forum, he continued.

Rincewind1

I must've missed that thread.

As much as he was annoying at times, I find this rather distasteful. We have our sleuth or trolls, and you ban the one who actually provides something other than mess?
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

The Butcher

As long as this board insists on keeping separate fora for Ideologically Pure and Ideologically Suspect games, it will continue drawing trollery of this sort.

Which might even be a step up from the usual diet of RPGnet refugees.

So now you're not just moving threads to the ghetto, but quietly banning folks who use the wrong one? Good thing I thought to ask if Fate Core was a storygame before posting about it in the main forum then :)

Seriously, you're [STRIKE]no better[/STRIKE] worse than RPG.net when you pull shit like this.

The guy was a whiney git but at least he actually made threads about games(sure mostly threads about him whining about games but still), i gotta agree though the separation does incite some to troll since alot of the games considered as not pure are hardly full on swinegames either.

RPGPundit

Having rules encourages assholes to show up to do nothing other than to try to break the rules.  Seriously?

And we're as bad, no, worse than RPG.net who constantly bans people for any reason at all, when we ban people (an average of one every 3-6 months or so) who have sometimes literally spent YEARS (like GW did) trying to disrupt the site while playing the game of seeing how much they can get away with and not be banned?

Please, motherfuckers.

There are very very few things you can get banned for on here, and they're all clearly defined, and ideological disagreement about RPGs isn't one of them.  The Swine could even post to their hearts' content about their Swine-games over in the Other Games forum with no fear of persecution.

Off-topic and/or zero-content posting, or making a post where you say you know the site's rules but are choosing to openly defy them, on the other hand, will get you banned, whether you are a Swine or the most fanatical of OSR-grognards.

Wow of all the shit heels around here you picked GW to ban?

I can think of many posters more deserving of a ban for shitting up the forums than GW.
Disclaimer: I attach no moral weight to the way you choose to pretend to be an elf.

I love you too.

Wait, what?  ;)
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

It strikes me that a better approach than banning GW would be just to admit that the forum's current segregation and philosophy of games is cringeworthily infantile, arbitrary and nonsensical.

You know, and just have one forum for discussing roleplaying games.
Playing roleplaying games is like making love to a beautiful woman....

It seems to me that if you don't like the set-up here, you can always go elsewhere.

Constantly breaking one of the rules just because you don't like it is the act of an imbecile, especially on a forum with so few rules to begin with.

Quite.

Sadly for GW, he truly is an imbecile, because he got banned from RPGnet years ago.
