Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

CavScout Banned

One Horse Town

Due to continued derailing of threads in the RPG section of the site, as well as making conversation all but impossible in some threads, the user CavScout has been banned.

For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Guess he forgot to pay his bill.
On weird fantasy: "The Otus/Elmore rule: When adding something new to the campaign, try and imagine how Erol Otus would depict it. If you can, that\'s far enough...it\'s a good idea. If you can picture a Larry Elmore version...it\'s far too mundane and boring, excise immediately." - Kellri, K&K Alehouse

I have a campaign wiki! Check it out!

About god damned time.

I mean I'm and asshole, Pundits and asshole, assholes tend to piss each other off.  But CavScout was a freaking waste of space.  Guess I can take him off of ignore now.

This. I had just put him on my Ignore list, actually, but I hate that because it "cuts" conversations artificially.

A-yup. There are assholes, and then there are people who exist to make any sort of discussion impossible. So, good news there.

On the other hand, Seanchai is also banned. What happened there? I didn't like the guy at all, but I never thought he deserved anything.

RPGPundit

Seanchai is banned for 24 hours, something that usually never happens here, but it is part of the object lesson in teaching the difference between RPGnet moderators and this site's moderation. He kept saying that there was no difference, so he won the right to be treated like there really isn't.  After all, if what he was saying were true it wouldn't have changed anything, right? So he can be a big boy and admit he was wrong, or he can keep dealing with the rpgnet-level of moderation he claims this site already has.

Just as I predicted. Funny, there really is no substantial difference between RPG.Net and your modpolicy as of this moment.

Sad thing to see someone leaving behind his ideals.

Look upthread, it´s already the same bullshit Pundit used to abhor:

"Somebody "did" anything."
"Somebody "deserves" sanctions."
"Valuable contributions"

Fuck this bullshit. Fuck this bullshit back when it was about something abominable, when I stopped posting. It was the beginning of the end, as it now shows.

Get to your senses, folks. You already ARE a modclique. Snap out of it.

EDIT: Oh, and bye again. I´ll start posting again when the bans are lifted, including Fritzs and WalkerPs. Bannings are a sign of weakness & insecurity, as well as the lack of trust in the power of discourse. It´s the slacker´s way out.

But that doesn't make sense, Pundit! It makes no sense at all! This is a downright bizarre way to address a poster complaint. "We demonstrate our principles by showing you how the people we are opposed to would be doing it."

Well, whatever, your forums, your right to moderate them. At least CavScout's case was justified, but this... sheesh, NO.

About time this doofus was banned. Who decided it anyway ? Was it the Pundit or was it a group effort ?
