I was refering to Nox-  I am sure you thought I was talking about you and sorry, not everything is about you Pundit.

The edited message came across like a an attack on this site, which if you look at a post on rpg.net I admitted sounded bad and I corrected (see, a person can see his wrongs and correct it).

As for the spammer point, well I am not spamming.  I am actually replying to threads and discussing.  I am posting on rpg.net more as well.  My site happens to be in my sig file.   It's no more spamming for me to post with a site in my sig file then it is anyone else on this site who is posting with a site listed in their sig file.

If I was going forum by forum and posting messages that only said "Hey come to my site!" that is spam.  Yes I am posting more but you should be happy, I am contributing to the site, I have added thread(s) and I am keeping the momentum going.

Blue Devil has started some interesting threads and posted relevant posts, she's no more a spammer than I am.

So, Blue Devil IS a "she"  - and isn't like those 20 or so posters on the Big Purple & pink that use a female avatar when they're actually male ?

Yeah, it is a bit rich isn't it? Still, i'm guessing that pundit believes that 'playing both sides' could be disruptive to this site in the form of keeping people away who would otherwise have visited or feeding the tension that already exists between the two sites.

He states his case poorly then. As for spamming, I have a link to my site in my sig and have been posting more lately (more than I should ). I do not think that is the issue. Blue Devil just is not being "a good little soldier" and supporting the site. Personally, having looked over the thread in question, I find it mostly factual. Good and bad.

Now, to be clear, if Blue Devil had been posting "Join my RPG Site!!!" in every thread on the board then, yeah, that is spamming. Heck, even in one thread not on the topic of "Other Boards". But the key, here at least, is that we should not be banning people for what they do ELSEWHERE. Spam on theRPGSite then, yes, Ban Ban Ban!

Well, I came to my conclusion apart from this thread and based largely on BD's activity elsewhere.  Most folk are showing off something or another in their sig, and that's cool.  It's different though when a person suddenly starts posting a lot of posts that, from where I'm sitting, either lack content or the poster doesn't honestly give a shit about the topic.

Maybe BD really wants to discuss RPG.net fora organization and really wants to know more about Unknown Armies, Exalted, old games folk still run, and other topics.  I doubt it, given the number of one sentence responses (which tend to be low time investment questions to feed threads and spread advertisement at a minimum cost), but who knows.

Ah well, I'm biased anyway.  Apparently I'm misquoting BD in some sort of sinister attempt to destroy her efforts.  *shrug*

I think the bottom line, for me, is that there is a fundamental difference between posters who include links to material they work on in their sig but post in order to discuss RPGs and posters who post for the sake of getting people to look at their sig.  The one I value the other I think of as a clever spammer.

I endorse every single point made in CW's above post and would like to run for VP in his presidential campaign.
