This is also a great example of how Jackalope thinks. If he cannot be successful in a social situation, then he must do whatever is necessary to ruin that social situation.

I believe that this pattern is being repeated in his request that CavScout be banned. Jackalope could not defeat CavScout in the pissing contest of ideas, so Jackalope is asking for him to be banned from the forum.

So Jackalope can win.

If I can be in a thread and it does not degenerate into a "pissing contest" but it only does so when you show up, am I the real problem? Perhaps you should be looking to get someone else banned.

Point out where I'm clouding the issue. I have been very clear about what I think of this issue unlike Cavscout on numerous occasions. And if you are so worried about character assasination, why didn't you speak up when Cavscout called me a racist and then as usual refused to back up his statement. I suppose this sort of behaviour does not trouble you because he and you share the same political beliefs.

He also has not asnwered the question of his ban. I have said and my posting record speaks for itself, that I would apologize if what I said about his banning -which is entirely relevent to the way how he conducts himself here -is not true. You are clouding the issue. And I think it's because you both share the same political views. Fair enough, but don't go around accusing others of your bias.

It was one time in retaliation to the way how you responded to me. I apologized for the disruption. I do have a political bias which has never poisoned my interaction with others in OT or the rpg section. But nice try. You defend Cavscout because of your bias. I'm getting tarred on a few places across the intertubes now by a few rather lackluster individuals with neither the persistence nor the chops to handle themselves in a discussion. Pretty typical skirmishing tactic to just disappear back to my MySpace/Blog/Livejournal' Batcave to fume and 'lern mahr Engrish'. That's really no fun at all. It takes the whole joie out of de online vivre. Jeez, we DO have a literary hobby after all. Imagine how fucking boring the "salon" scene of the 19th century would have been if people ran out (or were thrown out) because of something they said. Jackalope et. al., don't you think it keeps you just a little bit sharper knowing CavScout is ALWAYS going to jump in and start barking like a hellhound? Try and remember this quote from Ivanhoe - 'Curs jump up to get slapped down again'. Or this quote from me: 'If the cur bites your dick off, that's a war-dog. Come better prepared next time.'

CavScout is no VS Naipaul, but he's got that misplaced strength of conviction you need in a good mascot. This place has a reputation amongst those tenderfooted souls I talked about earlier as some kind of taliban-cum-fascist mosh pit. You know that ain't true, but let's keep at least one cur at the gate to keep out the pussies.

This seems about as good and clever a conclusion to this thread as any other could be. So we're going to close it here, summing up that:

1. I have no intention of banning cavscout, not because of his politics, and not because he's an asshole. Neither of those are bannable offenses.

And I've already made it abundantly clear that I'm not going to oppress or silence your right-wing views as long as you post them in the right part of the site, and not in the others.  So for you to claim discrimination in threads is just kind of... wimpy.  And I thought you right-wingers were supposed to be the non-wimpy guys?
