SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

A question about the update

RPG.net is all purply

I'll be playing with the color scheme when I get some more time to better match the old style.

Two questions:
1. What is the cookie duration?  I ask because I had to log in again, though it's only been about 12 hours since the last time.
2. Did you consider moving to Drupal?  If you're still looking at options, it's what I work with, and what I recommend.  I could even give you a bid.

1. I don't know. It should be many days, probably 30.
2. We originally came from Drupal. It sucks. That was an even worse nightmare. I had to create custom scripts to migrate the database over.

As If

Well, I admit Drupal is very easy to screw up - even unintentionally.  It takes a Drupal specialist.  I will grant you that and leave it there.

Regarding cookies: I just had to log in again.  Am I the only one?  Any advice on this?

Try deleting the cookie for this site altogether, quit your browser, and try again.

Ok done.  I'll report back if there's still a problem.

Well, this thread seems to be turning into an Update Tech Talk conversation, so I hope I can put this here.

One thing I really liked before was the bottom right segment of the site's main page (so not the forums), which had a list of the 20 (?) threads with the most recent posts. That was great, because there are quite a few subforums here and many of them don't have much traffic, so instead of having to manually browse through every single subforum in search of new posts, I'd just get a quick-glance list of which threads are getting traffic.

I really hope something like that will be implemented in the future; it really made the forums a lot more accessible.
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

Just click on the new posts link just below the navbar at top.

I moved that Welcome bar below the navbar/search bar. A better place in my opinion. I'm just hoping it doesn't screw anything up, because it wasn't easy :)

I fucking love you. I'm glad I'm not the only one who used the Most recent posts section. Manually opening each forum sucks! Much easier for me to click my bookmark and see if anything changes. Quite Frankly, I liked the front page. I don't have a single bookmark that links to a forum.

Damn.  I just had to log in again.  It's been just a little under 6 hours since I deleted my cookies.

Maybe wipe the cookie again and then restart your computer. Short of that, I don't know, as I haven't experienced it. It sounds like a corrupted cookie.
