Title: The Holy Grail
Post by: DeadVerySoon on January 18, 2022, 04:52:55 PM
I have some board game ideas, and am searching for the Holy Grail.

I would like the game to be playable / accessible to the max.

Meaning, persons of diverse age, gender, interest level, playing style and experience/skill level have an equal opportunity to participate, enjoy, win.\\

Meaning, if a guy drags his girlfriend to come play, it's her first time, only female there, she hates competition, she is reluctant, hates the theme, how to make it a pleasure for her anyway?  Just an example.

Meaning, equal opportunity to "win" by being violent or by being the diplomatic type.

Ideas?

Ways to scale the difficulty?\\

Ways to make it play with any number, odd number, even solo.

Ways to either handicap vets or give reasonable buffs to newbies.

Interesting. It's been my observation that women can be just as competitive as men. Those involved in games of all sorts I was running or took part in were sometimes leading the group, never mind enjoying winning as anyone else. So there you have it. As long as anyone can win, go for it. Otherwise don't worry because you simply can't appeal to everyone.

And, my quote of the day:
QuoteYou will never please everybody. Some men will say you have gone too far. Other men will say you haven't gone far enough. I just compromise and say I won't please anybody.
-Aiden Wilson Tozer

Just make something that makes you and those around you happy. That's my advice.
