This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Silverlion

Here are the teams list so far. I need some help and feedback. I have more details but I overwhelm people with this stuff..:D

Pulp Age:
The Friar of Fear, the creeping chill, the haunter of the wicked
Rider of the Rails
Dread
The Unseen Soldier

Golden Age:

The Human Torpedo (Solo)
Dr. Velocity (Solo)

Freedom's Four
Mr. Triumph
Ms. Glory
Lady Victory
All-American Archer I

Silver Age:

Cricket (Solo)
Flea (Solo)
Moth (Solo)
Should I ditch a bug? Replace a bug? Cricket and Flea could be done as shrinkers. Moth is a gadget/fighter type (Batman, but not as high tech.) I don't want to overdo the theme. I like the Moth and Flea, but I need some more focus here.

Atlantean (formerly the Human Torpedo, Solo)
Atomax, the Nuclear Knight (Solo)
Triumph & Glory (Duo)

Creatures
Engineered children fashioned in a lab. Neither human, nor animal, but whose hearts are heroic and kind.

Needles (Porcupine like humanoid, big guy, soft heart.)
Whispers (Bat like humanoid, sonic attack)
Scales (Lizard-man, mimics any lizard power)
Aerial (Bird girl, fly and has talons)

Changelings:
Born 9 months after a wild Vernal Equinox. Children
of Faery Lords, begat unto fair human women.

Stoneheart
Stormsylph
Firesprite
Waterweird

Guardian-Elite
Classic Avengers type team.

Shadow Scarab
Victorytrix
Starswift
All-American Archer II
Need a couple more members. Probably a Mythic hero (Thor, Horus, sort...)

Science Crusaders
Doctor Velocity  (Revised Origin)
Captain Eagle  (Power Armored/Revised Origin)
Doctor Radiant (Lightbringer Origin)
Mindscion

The Mysterys
Thomas Mystery, Archmage of Fire
Lillian Mystery, Lady Witch of Water
Valeria "Val" Minerva Mystery,  (Trainee) Witch of Wind
Thaddeus "Tad"  Solomon Mystery, (trainee) Wizard of Earth
Pet: Alberich:  A small white  fluffy white dog that's actually a Foo Lion in disguise.

The (Atomic) Alliance
Dr. Kim Teague created the Alliance for the Atomic Generation.
Code names:
Newton (Gravity Control)
Magnetitan (Magnetic Powers)
Corecharge (Plasma control)
Gammastar (Radiation Control)
Kid Comet (Ice Generation)

Age of Fable

They all sound like 'real' superheroes, and it's easy to imagine what they do from their names.
free resources:
Teleleli The people, places, gods and monsters of the great city of Teleleli and the islands around.
Age of Fable \'Online gamebook\', in the style of Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf and Fabled Lands.
Tables for Fables Random charts for any fantasy RPG rules.
Fantasy Adventure Ideas Generator
Cyberpunk/fantasy/pulp/space opera/superhero/western Plot Generator.
Cute Board Heroes Paper \'miniatures\'.
Map Generator
Dungeon generator for Basic D&D or Tunnels & Trolls.

The Butcher

Looks promising to me.

I'd love to read a little bit more about some characters/teams. Name, power source, powers, personality. Say, something like this:

Asha
Power Source: Mystic (possession by an ancient Persian god)
Powers: Super-strength, fire control, sense truth, magic sword
Background & Personality: Mortal possessed by the Persian god of fire and justice, sent to Earth by his father Ahura Mazda to do battle against the hordes of the dark god Ahriman

By the way, here's your mythic hero. ;)

Awesome. Sadly the problem I'm running into is making them familiar enough to people to work.

I'll do more. The list I shared is a stripped down version of a much much longer one. I figured I'd focus on them. The descriptions for some were simply bogging me down and were way way to long.

I also had too many legacy heroes. DC style. I don't dislike DC, at all, but artificially trying to recreate that feel was stifling my aims. I decided to go a different route with my strange "alternate reality" comic book company.

The Atlantean
aka The Human Torpedo, Jason Laumer

Power Source: Alien (Atlantean)
Powers: Superstrength (50-75 tons at peak.)
Superhuman Resistance to Harm (Pressure, Cold, Heat)
Body Armor (Able to stop high end human weaponry.)
            Water Breathing
            Super-Speed
            Flight
            Sonic Pulse/Super-Cavitation Bubble

Role: the Archetype (Superman) and Aquatic Hero (Namor)

Origin: Golden Age hero who fought Nazi's and their U-boats
while seeking a way to find his lost undersea home. Raised by humans
but the son of the last true Atlantean King. The Atlantean eventually
discovered a means to rescue his lost people. Survivors of the great
Atlantean Civil War. He also found Melate, and her home city of Mu,
an Atlantean colony from before the war. Most of his powers
are caused by science-sorcery changes worked upon the Atlanteans when the landmass sunk, it is unknown however why he can fly and is capable
of releasing sonic pulses like the pistol shrimp. Possibly tied to furthur experiments in adaptation by his father. Under certain conditions the Atlantean's body emits a visible glow. He has webbed fingers and toes
when exposed to water.

Weakness: Items made of the alloy hepatizon. (Known in the ancient world but lost to all but Atlanteans, Mu, and Lemurians.) He is also weakened by exposure to the fumes of a specialized toxin harvested from a rare deep sea octopus.

Something like that is the short form. The long form gives his origin and highlights his adventures, as well as explaining part of the history of Atlantis. (I've moved most of it to the Atlantis entry.)

Sigmund

Possible Mythic heroes:

My first inclination is to go Asian with it, just to shake it up a little. Maybe Monkey King, he's Asian, but still familiar. If not, then perhaps a mythic hero like Beowulf could be created.

Other than that, the names sound decent to me. Corny where appropriate, and not otherwise. I especially like the Mysterys and the Atmoic Alliance.

Silverlion

Thanks everyone.

I've decided the Monkey King works well. Plus I needed some martial art focuses for the 70's. The Mystery's cover the "magic" that became big, and the book will get a bit more worldly and surreal through that age.

I've got more to add, as I work on it but trying to keep it solid and complete, yet still with room to build on if people want their own heroes in those roles.

Sigmund

I'm just remembering I encountered a character named Cricket in CoH, he was a martial arts scrapper with moves like Lizard from Mortal Combat and the Super Jump travel power. I always thought he was really cool, green suit with antennas (or is it antenni, I forget).
