SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The first playtest packet for Bleeding Sky is now available to download as an open packet.  This packet focuses on custom weapon creation.

Bleeding Sky is a post apocalyptic role-playing game that allows players to play in various technological eras: early 1800s, late 1800s, mid 1900s, modern, and future.  Because of this broad range of eras, a simple pre-generated weapon list won't do.  Creating and customizing your own weapons is highly encouraged, and is designed to model real life weapons as closely as possible without having a hundred pages of tables.

So if you're interested, download the packet (27 pages, 1.5mb in size) and let me know your thoughts.  I know quite a bit about firearms, but I'm not expert.  Help me with the design process.  The goal is to allow most weapons to be created using only a few tables.

Thanks!
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

I've gotten some feedback from folks, and on a slightly related topic based on that feedback, would you as a gamer appreciate a fairly robust appendix that included a detailed glossary of gun verbiage, diagrams of the parts of some common guns, and illustrations of various things?

As you can see from the playtest doc, I've already got plans of including some illustration examples throughout the book, but would you prefer to have an entire section devoted to blueprints and diagrams?  Things like the components of a bullet, a grenade cut-away illustration, etc.

Since i get the impression this is a part of the larger work, i don't think that all that is necessary, maybe just something in the form of a sidebar would fit better in the scope of how you've described what you're working towards.
