Title: D&D: Settlement Stat Blocks?
Post by: jadrax on January 22, 2013, 10:32:51 AM
What sort of stats do people find helpful for settlements in modules?

Pathfinder, has a pretty comprehensive guide (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/mastery/settlements.html); but really I am looking for something much more paired down. Really just the things people find really helpful to be able to see at a glance.

Hmm, don't know that I've ever found settlement stats all that useful. Its hard to tell how big a place is from population and I struggle a bit trying to interpret what square areas translate into image-wise: I'd include those things but a map is probably much more useful. More text covering important places, government, and relevant history is more critical.

I've never used GP limits for magic items or spellcasting levels/NPC levels - I just make rulings on that sort of thing common sense wise. I guess leader/major NPCs vague stats (name, alignment, class/lvl) are handy.
