Starting a new series of articles with the goal of doing OSR stat write-ups for the famous monsters spawned out of the /x/ board from 4chan.
/x/ board being the conspiracy / paranormal board of 4Chan. each article will contain 5 monsters with associated links to the original stories/accounts which these monsters were featured in.
Monsters of /X/ #1 (https://socraticdungeon.com/posts/monsters-of-x-1/)
-Featuring-
The Snow Angel
Black-Eyed Kids.
The Chicago Crab
The Stilt-Walker
The Gorp
Oooh, this is cool. never was much of a 4chan user, like you said, it can be frustrating to navigate and all. But I really like this concept and can see it blowing up with the popularity of projects like SCP becoming their own RPGs and the fanbase behind them. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks, I'm hoping to get a few more Monsters of /X/ out in the next couple months.

keeping an eye on this project. /x/ tends towards the urban-fantasy just because of its structure, but I bet a lot of cool fey creatures could be adapted from there. and obviously if you're running a straight urban-fantasy you're golden.

I wouldn't worry about it.
(This is a good series)
these are fantastic. They even fit perfecty in a fantasy world. You've got me wondering if I want to replace my current planned goblins with gnomes.
These are really cool. The "gorp" is no relation to the Runequest creature of the same name, I take it?

The Gorp of the now defunct 4chan /x/ is more akin to an extinct species of ground sloth. the Gorp of runequest to my understanding is an acidic slime monster? so no relation to my understanding.
Question: I have almost no familiarity with /x/ because of a perennial avoidance of 4chan, but is there any crossover with the monsters there and the monsters in the SCP?

Yes, first ever SCP entry (SCP-173) was a post on 4chan's /X/ board. and which the format for SCP articles/entries would be born.
Of course it became popular enough as a format to garner it's own website.
