SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Why Has D&D Been Such an Easy Target for Cultural Marxists?

By peer group, do you mean other left leaning people who try to outdo each other with regards to "supporting diversity", yet live in the whitest neighborhoods they can find?

If so, then it's no wonder that New York threw a hissy fit when Texas decided to help them diversiteit their place by bussing in some illegals they weren't allowed to stop.

Yep and Yep.

I'm reminded of the scene in Fritz the Cat, where a bunch of college students are parading their "progressive" credentials.

Which, if art is any reflection of real life, shows that this thing has been going on for quite some time.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

Indeed. Everyone is a feminist until the ship starts sinking. Then, is women and children first!

By that same token, every blue city claims to be a sanctuary city because they are very far from the border. So, they get to virtue signal all day long while not having to suffer the consequences. Sending the immigrants to them for a few months and now New York is throwing a major hissy fit about it. Same thing happened with Martha's Vineyard.

The second they had to actually walk the walk, then its a problem. They love the flood of immigrants when it was on the border not on their backyard.

I think there's another reason why the table-top rpg hobby is vulnerable to these entryist types.  A sizeable segment of ttrpgs players are, to be blunt, kind of spineless.  They are confrontation averse to the point of letting problem players cause problems for years or shutting down the game entirely rather than confront these players.  This is a hobby where a common piece of advice for dealing with a problem player is to tell that player that the game has ended and then keep playing in secret without telling them.  This is something that people actually suggest in all apparent seriousness.  They just aren't equipped to deal with woke types who have no problem at all being aggressive and confrontational.  They just get walked all over.  They also aren't very well equipped to deal with the reputation destruction and social ostracism tactics that the whisper network types deal in.

Given how I've seen some players behave after being kicked out, I kind of understand.  I'm aware of a few cases where long term harassing campaigns took place, some that got violent or really scary.  I myself had one case that resulted in criminal charges against a former player.

It only has to happen once around you for you to want to avoid that situation.  Sometimes it's just easier to ghost someone rather than deal with the mess.

Terrible idea, overwhelming majority of ttrpg players can't pass Voight-Kampff test.

I didn't take this to mean that SHARK is defending and supporting nazis. He's right. The nazis were right about some things. It's illogical to say "The nazis enjoyed water" as an argument against water.

But when I say the same thing about communists, then you come out swinging at me, when you didn't against SHARK.
Have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?  Vodka, that's what they drink . . . on no account will a Commie ever drink water, and not without good reason . . . Have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rainwater, and only pure-grain alcohol? Have you ever heard of a thing called fluoridation of water? Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?

I'm a middle aged guy with a lot of free time, looking for similar, to form a group for regular gaming. You should be chill, non-woke, and have time on your hands.

D&D is corporate and corporations love this shit. They see the modern left for what it is: an incipient religion full of fanaticism and vigor they can exploit by giving lip-service to its tenants. Anything that dumbs people down is ultimately good for their business model.

The fact is that these institutions are not stupid and when they push this agenda they know exactly what they are doing: spending money to make money. Gillette and Bud Lite can  hemorrhage money for decades on end due to their woke ads but Proctor & Gamble and Anheuser-Busch can absorb that with a shrug. People can get outraged and boycott but sooner or later they will wear everyone down with an endless game of whack-a-mole.
Aim to please, shoot to kill.

Man at Arms

Imagine all the angst the SJW crowd feels; once they realize that non-woke people can continue playing D&D forever, without any new content from WOTC.
