Idiots who never played CP2013/2020 and therefore know jack shit about it trying to make trouble for CDPR for not having a gender option in CharGen.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck it must be a duck. I mean jeez people it's fucking pixels on a screen! And many of those idiots have played as women in games where they have the option.

The video itself actually suggests taking a wait and see approach as too little is known of the process yet to say.

The wording of the announcement does use a few of the usual SJW buzzwords though which in this day and age is a valid cause for concern.

But till more is known, I agree with the person in the video that not enough is shown yet to get really worked up about. But that we should keep an eye on it in case something is up.

Reading the press statement it sounds like they had gender choice, got woke and decoded to remove gender choice. But that the chargen system is freeform and you can be whatever you want. Which sounds fine really. Just wish they ha chosen to word it better.

I got the impression that character generation was planned to allow for customization so your character can be and possibly look like whatever the player wants. I don't see what the big deal about not having a specific box to check: M or F (and I guess get some generic base model) possibly unless its effects some options in play (like romantic interest) and it is cyberpunk so 'alternative lifestyles' are pretty inside the scope. I mean its a setting where you can get bodymods to make yourself into a real life walking, talking anthropomorphic so Hell, in character someone can pick Male, Female, either, neither or both.

I'm gonna be totally surprised to see another video game company bow to SJW bullshit. Totally. Surprised.

But extreme cosmetic customization does make sense in the CP genre so I can see the rationale, but its not rocket science to see the real reason its there.

I get the fan explosion. They've been cheering for CDPR because fans finally thought they found a game publisher with balls to stand against the Twitter garbage. Now? We'll all know the truth when the final product hits the shelves and the fan reviews arrive, and not a moment before.

Again, this is why pre-ordering games (or Kickstarting games) involves a level of risk.
