SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Wait, What Controversy about Pundit and Zak?

Honestly not impressed with him given what I have seen what he been saying on G+. It's too bad because his rpg's seem pretty good.

Here's an eye-opener.

In a thread on Andri Erlingsson's G+, somebody named T. Amber Bezpalko (whom I've never heard of), is talking about having blocked me, and being worried about being characterized as a bad person for blocking.   Then the following quote comes out:

"dude's got a particular... force to his every comment that I just don't think I can handle.

Let that sink in a moment.

We've actually got an individual here (again, whom I've never heard of, or interacted with in any way), who is seriously claiming that my words on a screen can cause them genuine anxiety and distress.

Seriously.

If we're dealing with such shrinking violets that the "force" of comments can cause them some sort of harm to their unique and special snowflakehood?   It becomes far easier to believe that they think that they have "evidence" of the things they're claiming.   I'd be willing to bet that all of the "evidence" is of a similar nature.

There are people who go so far into the depths of self-defining as victims that they're just fucking pathetic -- and a horrible disservice to *genuine* victims in the world.

"i can't handle the force of his comments" -- GROW THE FUCK UP.

He blocked me. My name is Kenny Johnson on that post. They ask me for evidence and then block me. I was going to post something from Topher about bearded dwarven females that shows him using social justice as a positional good. What a bunch of tools .

I'm in my office... drinking my coffee. Amusing myself to the sheer *insanity* of that G+ thread. Zak's making me giggle with his non-stop declaration of (my words - "Hey you twats, you're excusing their actions because you don't want to come out and say your so-called 'friends' are lying scumbags making baseless accusations.'

Watching them dance around their own self-affliction in words is... Yeah it's driving by watching a person chase themselves with a hammer. It's surreal.

then I see this quote above from GMS - and I'm literally laughing out loud. spitting up coffee all over my poor keyboard.

That's my new line. "I can't handle the force of his comments." It's like they're staring at their screens...

and your comments are blaring out at them.

Oh man... this is so fucking sad/funny/pathetic/disturbing

Oh, in that case, you're one of the few rational people posting in that thread.

I've never heard of somebody asking for information and then blocking the person so they cannot post it. That's somehow feels cowardly to me.

That's because Andri is a coward.

He's a fucking Icelander who's hobby is to bitch about US-based social justice issues on the internet.

I mean, I know it must suck to be a Very Serious Social Justice Middle Class Kid Who's Down For The Struggle when you live in a country where social inequalities are "relatively non existent due to the homogeneous society" (source: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Comparative_law_and_justice/Iceland#Social_Inequality)...   but looking elsewhere so you can find a Struggle to be Down with?

That's just pathetic.

Quote from: GMSkarka;767366That's just pathetic.

Isn't all social justice warriors just pathetic anyways?

When there is a real civil rights issue I am right behind civil rights activists.  The shit that goes on in the world is pretty disgusting.  We have innocent school girls that get shot because they went to school.  We have LGBT that get beaten, or killed for being different.  We got a whole lot of shit that is wrong going in the world.

So where do social justice warriors put their best efforts at?  Video games and role playing games.  What the fuck?  People whine and bitch about fake pretendy things as if it was a actual case of rape that deserves such out cry.  There is real rape going on out there in the fucking world and that doesn't get any amount of attention.

Then the more I think about the more I am glad the bulk of them are in video games and role playing games.  At least they are not the "Don't call me bossy" crowd.  They are not the ones producing fake ass research that states that one out of five women will be sexually assaulted in college when the department of justice have peer reviewed research that claims other wise.  As in rape is declining in the USA.  Those fucks make the world worst.

"Well, I would not have made him a mod."  (True, though only half the story - and I wasn't about to share the rest)

and

"His style is very much a callback to the whole wild west period" (Also something I felt was true at the time)

Both delivered half-joking in a "let me defuse this whole shitting-on-my-friends deal by throwing him a conciliatory thought of sorts" moment to someone that, as it turned out, was fishing nice and hard for some sweet gotcha lines, and got ones to twist into place.

Once again, go fuck yourself.

Can somebody tell me what this "Wild West" period of RPGnet was like?

Because I feel like, when I asked people on RPGnet questions to clarify and back up their position and got a mountain of shit for it, I felt like they were getting flashbacks to this "wild west period" that I wasn't around for.

It's like I was eating a peach and there were all these mods who'd just been through some Drowned By A Dumptruck Full Of Peaches war. I'd literally be like:

Zak: "So When Exactly Did You Decide (Topic of Thread)?"
Mod: "STOP DERAILING!!!!!!" (aaaaaaah, peaches!)
I won a jillion RPG design awards.

Buy something. 100% of the proceeds go toward legal action against people this forum hates.

Sacrosanct

I joined there in 1999.  And when I hear "the wild west" days, it's usually in reference to Curt, Magic Pink, and Redredderreddest having free reign to call people motherfuckers.

On a related topic to the OP, I posted this to Pundit's G+, and I feel it's relevant here as well:

To be honest, and of course this is just my personal speculation, but I don't think this whole outrage bullshit is even about you or Zak.  The outrage didn't start until 5e was released.  You and Zak are just ammunition.  These are the same people who have said in the past that they will actively try to ruin 5e because they feel abandoned that 4e is no longer "the" D&D game.

If they were really outraged at you and Zak, they've had plenty of time to find this "evidence" they claimed they had.  And they've had plenty of time since it was announced you both were consultants on it.   So why wait until 5e is released?  Because they want it to fail.  Simple as that.

And that's....pretty sad actually.

I know this probably is hard for you to accept though, since I know how much you love to make everything about you.  But sorry dude.  This is about wanting 5e to fail.  ;)
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

Not sure, but I think it happened shortly after continental Europe discovered the computer.
