SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Wait, What Controversy about Pundit and Zak?

Yes, and yes, prima facie as to where it all started; no doubt with posters having membership at both places as well.

Hey, they could defend themselves from all these attacks if they hadn't gotten themselves banned.

The words. I can't find any.

Looking out across social media, it is funny how hard people are working to keep up the attacks on Pundit, Zak etc etc. Taken out of the hyper-moderated TBP feelzone and suddenly they are held to account for their statements and (shock horror) people step up to defend!
I play these games to be entertained... I don't want to see games about rape, sodomy and drug addiction... I can get all that at home.

I just have a mental picture of cartman leaning out from behind a lamp-post,  saying "yeah!" before ducking behind it again.

Especially seeing as how they got banned.  Well, Zak anyway.  He was banned simply because Ettin doesn't like him.  The trail of infractions clearly tells that story.  Zak didn't actually break any rule.

So this is just Darren being a douchebag who should know better.  He knows full well that even if Zak hadn't been banned, as soon as he did defend himself he would be.

Nevermind that all of this ignores their own rule about attacking former posters, which clearly doesn't apply.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

There are no rules on RPG.net. It's a textbook example of tyranny, and the only good thing about it is that it's contained to Internet forum, rather than real life. There are many proofs, but I think Mcbobo has here a best quote - you were banned because I said so.

I know how we often joke how they are totally like Stalinist Russia or Communist Poland, but there are really, really curious comparisons to me, as someone who studied the latter's laws and behaviour of various institutions, especially the valiant disregard for their own guidelines in practice, or banning for offences that are likely to be committed in nearby future.

From what I understand, the problem started with Darren, who went ahead and used the loophole of "guidelines, not laws" to smash people around. It's really a lovely case study.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

Funny, I was going to say the same thing. Then I said to myself 'why bother'. But yes, admin/mods as nomenklatura is an apt description.

Pundit was a pretty big cock on a few boards before he set this place up.

The great thing about this place is that i can say that about him and in fact be one of his moderators.

Just tons of the stuff.

They are drowning in examples.

But you can't see any of it. And it's not available to other people looking into it.

I've always used the Animal Farm comparison.  Because the last 10 years have been right out of that book, almost to a T.

Wow, they banned themselves? They have admin powers at TBP! Good for them, at least there are some admins there that aren't idiots. Too bad those admins banned themselves.

As someone who has identified as a Marxist (and been called one numerous times) just let me say that so-called "Cultural Marxism" is partly responsible for the subversion of actual Marxism and thus the breakdown of the left as a force for workers.

Or as force for the people in general, except a few vain academics enjoying the supposed betterment of human race by forcing them to walk on mental eggshells, with respect born out of fear rather than genuine acceptance.
