This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

No, the one here. The second annual CPU Pipe Tournament.

I came in 12th, but hey, I beat out Herman Betarte. So I didn't make the top 10 like I would have liked, but I did do five ranks better than last year's uruguayan tournament, and I took out Betarte.  Plus I took home a bottle of high-quality Grappa.

And yes, Umasama, I beat out Federico and Marcel as well, but they weren't really competition (though both did much better in this tournament than they'd done previously).

I still don't get it though, whenever I compete in Argentina I consistently end up in the top ten, and often in the top five (and usually out of more slots, with 80 competitors instead of only 40), and yet here in Uruguay with the "home court advantage" I end up scoring poorly.

No, how it works is that everyone participating (in this case 50 people) are given the exact same make and model of pipe, and the exact same type of tobacco in the exact same amount (2gr).
They have five minutes to load the pipe, and one minute to turn it on using no more than two matches.
After that, they are not allowed to relight the pipe again; you smoke for as long as you can without the pipe going out (either from poor packing, lack of attention, or running out of tobacco).  The one who makes his pipe last the longest time without going out is the winner.

as a fan of the smell of pipe-tobacco, i would love to sniff the air around that venue! :)

As much as I love to smoke pipe I don't know if this kind of event would be fun for me, I smoke quite fast. I might go next year, also when is the next one in Bs.As?
