This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.
The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

To my knowledge, Desborough has never sent anyone a rape threat. Like I didn't exactly scrutinize +John Stavropoulos' detective work or anything but I'm willing to put that out there. Now, I know that fans of his have sent rape threats to people who criticise him, he's dismissed them as "not real threats" then turned around and posted about how he's received threats and they totally devastated him, and he's also made dumb RPG products that make jokes about women getting raped and claimed "it's totally satire!", so I still think he's a shithead, but not one that has threatened women anywhere obviously public, so I am willing to say whoever made that post is probably mistaken.

Also, a ton of people +1d that post after Zak started making a big deal about it, because for some mysterious reason people read his post as a silent harassment and wanted to either protest that or fuck with him. I mean, one of them was me! There is literally a public post in my feed to that effect.

I'm just going to go ahead and time how long it takes for someone to make a post about how I secretly actually +1d a six-month-old Google+ post to rob a shithead of his job by spreading lies and words don't mean things.

Why is Kenneth Hite bad? I enjoyed the idea of Trail of Cthulhu, even if I never played it.

Kemper Boyd posted:
He's bad in the sense that he seems to be one of those dudes that go "well lets ignore everything else because we want to play games", which is major contributor to the fact that the industry is a very hostile place to minorities. He helps Zak promote stuff, he engages with him online in a friendly manner, so I decided to not buy any of Hite's stuff.

And apparently this drives Zak nuts because its harassment and an organized boycott or something.

In the last few days there's been talk about the wider phenomenon inside the industry: everyone keeps paying lip service to being progressive, inclusive and whatnot, but when you actually take a look at the people running the industry (in the sense of being major public figures inside the industry), it's straight white guys all the way down. Straight white guys who promote each other, do projects together and somehow never ever include a minority designer in anything, much less promote their products.

This was written at D&D, Inclusivity, and Why I'm Not Buying (the linked text in this image goes to a twitlonger by Anna Kreider, aka wundergeek):
"...player narration and DM fiat fall apart whenever there’s anything less than an incredibly high level of trust for the DM. The general trend of D&D’s design up through the end of 4e is to erase dependence on player-DM trust as much as possible, not to create antagonism, but to insulate both sides from it when it appears." - Brandes Stoddard

If you see "Arthur Chu retweeted", then what you have there is an opinion that should be disposed of.

My first foray back into the RPG community in a decade, and this is how I'm treated.  Gamergaters aren't keeping people out, these degenerates are.  This is why I have a private gaming club in my own home.  This is why I don't go play with people out in stores regularly.  This is why I distanced myself from being a geek.
