This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

So, Pundit, what do you think of bush's visit?

I've seen people protesting bush coming to uraguay and approved as I hate bush and everything he's done with the sole, incidential exception of whacking the taliban in afghanistan.

I was wondering what pundit himself thought of bush's visit to his country and the protests resulting therefrom.

Wow, and you get on Koltar for being a suck-up. ;)

Don't you EVER compare me to that ass kissing suckup bootlicking toady scumbag pile of shit!!!

On the sjg forums qoltar was a constant today, cheering every banning and praising every arrogant, pompous ass of a mod. Shit, I'll find a link to one of his 'greatest moments' just as a contrast.

Here: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=23585

I was asking pundy a question about an even that occured in his sector, and I wanted a first person account, nhot what the fucking media talking heads wanted to tell me.

Ok, I was just wondering if you out any credance in the bush media claim that president hugo chavez from neighboring venezula had put the mobs up to the protests.

Seriously, bush's people have told the media they "believe" that most of the protests in uraguay were financed by chavez. Anyone inn uraguay think that or not?

BTW, I saw your bit about curt being allowe dback after making a 'cum guzzling whore" refference and how a mere mortal wouldn;'t be a mod after saying that. Oooooh Cesssssnaaaaa! Yoooo Hoooo! Wherrrre arrrrre youuuuuuu? We'd like a reply to this, in a forum where you can't ban anyone who questions you. Cessna? Here, boy! Heeerre, Cessna Cessna!

Let me tell you a little secret, Nox.

C'mere... no, closer... Trust me, its worth it.

(I've spent some time on the SJG forums)

No, really.

And you know what... I thought that Koltar was a horrible toady, same as you!

Really! Long before I even found THIS website! I remember when he found his way over to the Big Purple! I thought to myself "He won't last a week!"

I was wrong, of course - he lasted longer than *I* did! But the point is, yeah, he struck me as a horrible suck-up.

But you know what?

I like him more than you!

God, it sucks, but its true! HERE, he's so far not been so horrible that when I see his name, it dosn't make me wince! When I see HIS name, I can still read his posts without wondering when I might gouge my eyes out! Maybe its because I love Traveller with the same burning passion HE does (Koltar, PM me, I have the most amazing hook for District 268 - Woo hoo!), maybe its because he's so sincere! Maybe its because you're such a prick! I dunno! But the point is, you get on my nerves WAY more than Koltar ever did. I'd actually LIKE to play in his Traveller campaign. You... do you even PLAY RPGs?

(Jeebus! Is this my night to spill my guts or what?!!?)

So there it is. Yeah, I'm the big prick! Who could EVER like someone more than you!

Bleh.

Re. Bush: The claim is nonsense. Bush is despised in Uruguay. Chavez certainly did put up a big (and utterly dumb) show IN ARGENTINA in protest to Bush's visit to Uruguay (which is really bizzare to me; the president of one country, travelling a second country to protest the arrival of the US president in a third and unrelated country? I mean.. WTF??).
Its also pretty clear that some of the groups that marched and did some damage here were Argentine "piquetero" groups, professional protesters that do it for a living.
However, the vast majority of the people that protested were Uruguayans, from  diverse groups of morons like the "Fogoneros", the Young Anarchists, the Communist Party (one of the last truly oldschool Marxist-Leninist, "the U.S.S.R. was a great idea" political parties in south america), the taxi union, the public health union, and the PIT-CNT (the Public Employees union, easily one of the most powerful organizations in the country, and of the main sources of almost all of Uruguay's problems).

Most of these groups really like Hugo Chavez, but they don't exist because of him. Most of them existed long before anyone knew who Chavez was.

And of course, the Frente Amplio party, the communist party in power in uruguay right now, the very same party that invited Bush here, also held protests against Bush's presence. Just in case the whole scene wasn't surreal enough.

Finally, as for Koltar: My impression of Koltar from the SJG forums was that he was a total freak, one of those disturbed Klingon-loving trekkies that has no sense of propriety, and a right-winger to boot. I got into some fights with him there.  To my surprise, on this forum he has been quite pleasant, and I get the feeling that in this past year maybe something has changed him and he's done some re-evaluating of his life.

Which incidentally, Nox, you should seriously consider trying. For the record, I like Koltar more than you, by a long shot. Hell, I like the old insane "dressed up as a klingon to work" SJG Koltar better than you. People I have never agreed with about ANYTHING on here find common cause with me in absolutely nothing except the fact that we both dislike you.

When this many people, from all ends of the spectrum, people who usually argue and even can be said to hate each other, and who agree on ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, are coming together and singing kumbayah in honour and celebration of how little they like you, it might seriously be time to rethink your life, dude.

If anyone is interested in getting news from Latin America in English, try Mercopress.

By the way, this article is pretty interesting:

QuoteBush and Chavez share lowest image in the region

US and Venezuela presidents George W. Bush and Hugo Chavez, both on Latinamerican tours are the leaders with the lowest standing in the region according to a public opinion survey from Latinobarometro released at the end of 2006.

Top of the list figures Brazil’s Lula da Silva with 5.8 points, followed by Michelle Bachelet from Chile, 5.5 and Colombia’s Alvaro Uribe, 5.4. They are followed by Argentina’s Nestor Kirchner, Bolivia’s Evo Morales and Uruguay’s Tabare Vazquez with 5 points each.

Chavez and Bush rank seven and eight with 4.6 points each and bottom of the list is Fidel Castro from Cuba with 4.4 points.

According to Daniel Zovatto from LatinobarĂ³metro Bush’s best image is in
Central American countries and in Colombia, while he fares worst in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Panama is where the US president is most loves, 6.1 and in the opposite end Argentina with 0.6.

However Bush is the president with the greatest exposure since 79% of Latinamericans know who he is. He is followed by Chavez with 71%.

According to Zovatto Chavez is known by 80% of the population in eight countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Peru, Dominican republic and Uruguay”.

As to positive, average and negative image, the performance of both leaders is also similar.

Bush has a positive image of 30% and Chavez, 28%; in the average the Venezuelan leader is ahead with 34% and Bush 31%. Finally as to the negative factor both are tied at 39%.

Hugo Chavez’s best image can be found in Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Argentina and his lowest in Chile (8%); Costa Rica (11%) and Mexico (13%).

Tnaks for the info re Uraguay and bush protests. It's good to get info from people "On the scene" rather than thru the puppet media, and I appreciate your view on the subject.

As to liking coal tar better than me, that's your choice. Altho In find it odd that someone who hates modcliques and dictatorial mods as you avow to would like someone who sucks up to one of the worst, most pompous and arrogant modcliques in cyberspace.

Perhaps, as Lancelot said to Aurther in "Excalibur" your rage has unbalanced you.

Those who would compare me to that toadying trekkie coal tar are merely exposing their astronomical-scale stupidity.

Okay thank you everyone for making me do a simultaneous laughing spurt and saying "What the Fuck?" at the same time.

I was bored...thought I'd browse the non-gaming threads...read all of the above (except for the one poster that I have on ignore.) ....and  I'm still laughing.
Had a hell of a screwed-up day yesterday - but it all turned out okay.
This bit of humor was a welcome bit of relief.

Pundit, have a safe trip getting up to Canada.

His views or his countrymen's about Bush ? I'm not worried about that  ...this is a forum site about games. Thats what I come here looking for.
