This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Naked Shorts destroy people's livelihoods and hard work.  Some rich fuck "expert" goes on TV and spews lies about how poorly a company is doing that he just so happens to have shorted into oblivion and then he swoops in and buys at pennies on the dollar thanks to his "advice".  It is absolutely market manipulation and those doing this on wall street deserve what's coming to them.  Unfortunately it won't be as harsh as what would happen to the rest of us if we manipulated the markets because they're all part of the club.

And those who are told to wait for government action on their behalf because these things take time, will notice.

I'm not sure if it's the greed, or if it's the anger that a pack of proles just skinned the fuck out of them when they tried their usual racket. Eh, either works.

This is blatantly putting their thumb on the scale -- no. This is straight up taking the scales away and saying 'fuck you, peasant, how dare you cheat your betters'.

There are screen caps going around of the Robinhood app straight up selling off peoples shares without permission. Not totally verifiable at the moment but given the meltdown Wall Street is having I wouldn't be surprised.
