SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Quote from: Warboss Squee;1070030By the way, someone in Brad's area buy him a beer. Fucker called it.

I called it too, but I didn't post. I'll take the beer if Brad doesn't want it, though.

It still counts if I said it out loud, to my self, in an otherwise empty room and didn't post about it at all, right?  :P
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

I'd stand anyone a beer that winds up in my personal corner of the world.

Quote from: jeff37923;1070007You know, I'm going to catch some flak for this since I'm pretty much the one who outed jhkim, but we should not let that get us that riled up. If we believe in Freedom of Speech, I mean really walk the walk and not just talk the talk, then jhkim voicing his own opinion on another media platform is his privilege. Yeah, it is negative towards this forum and shows a serious disregard for the posters here in what he said, but he is well within his rights to do so. Freedom of Speech means that people are allowed to say things we don't like as well as that which we do like, that is one of the fundamental differences between TheRPGSite and places run by social justice types who can't handle anything negative in their hugbox.

I guess that I just don't want people to be irritated by the location of the post and not the content of the post. Let's face it, Freedom of Speech allows you to say whatever you want, but does not insulate you from the consequences of what you say.

To his credit, jhkim didn't say anything there that he hasn't or wouldn't say here.  The difference between us and the sjw/sjt crowd is we can think you're wrong without thinking you're evil, too.

Jhkim deserves no worse than to be challenged or confronted openly - not shamed, attacked, or driven away.

Quote from: SHARK;1070025Greetings!

Yeah! "Gaming Ambassador of the Year"! LOL! Gotta love that, huh? Geesus, I just love the vision of of the Rainbow Barney Club, all teary-eyed, voices quivering as they clutch their stuffed animals! LOLOLOLOLOL!

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK

For me it was the assumption that because your in the military you must be both a "gun nut and mentally instable". They should look in the mirror and fix their own mental health issues. When your assuming the worst with proof of anyone and everyone well to me that is being mentally unstable.

As for " Gaming Ambassador of the Year "...Viva Signor Shark Viva.

Quote from: Ratman_tf;1070014Jhkim is free to say whatever he likes. And i'm free to think he's been a disingenuous cocksucker.

Agreed and seconded and I consider him a hypocrite is the highest caliber.

Quote from: Omega;1070011Unfortunately I have run into this a few times where the victem of an attack refused to tell me who the damn attacker was or file a report and in the cases it happened where I was admin on a chat this happened on I pointed out very sternly that what they were doing was allowing the attacker to go after someone else and this were aiding in this. I feel bad about having to come down on people who have had a bad experience. But that is no excuse to enable this to happen to someone else too. And in one case that was exactly what did happen. The attacker moved on to another target who was also harmed.

Or about 2 months ago a game designer came to us relating how a publisher had liked his game pitch and requested a prototype be sent in. Then had decided the game was not their thing and not returned the prototype. Then a month later they publish a game very much like it. But the designer refused to state who. So this publisher may go on to rob other designers. And much the same happened last year where a designer working with a publisher related how the publisher had refused to pay them royalties for any games sold on Kickstarter. And the designer would not tell who this publisher was.

So I can see where someone might decide to step in. But I think you should only do so when it is your own venue and not go butting in to someone elses establishment unless the situation is really serious.

The sad part is Omeaga we have someone at work is committing fraud at this time. She was in a car accident and required "bed rest and she could not work". Yet on social media we she her wearing tight dresses despite her injuries in the accident. For someone requiring bed rest their is a damning video of her twerking on Instagram. Not only are they committing fraud they are so stupid as to put it on social media. Thinking they are safe because the manager from work is banned from their feed. Of course everyone else points out she is defrauding the company no one wants to be that person to report. After the new Year I probably will. That shit pisses me off.

This is just fucking heartbreaking.

Quote from: Haffrung;1069860Why is there so much drama and controversy in the geek world?

Because there's so little at stake, and objective facts are dismissed.

Quote from: cenmarik;1069886You haven't been to the right guitar forums, my friend. :) People somehow always dredge up the Strat vs LP argument.

Yes, but they aren't gonna call you a Nazi or try to ruin you financially for taking either side.

Quote from: kythri;1069969I'm curious how FGG no longer being able to donate product for a Humble Bundle charity drive "hits them where it counts" but, I'm a simple man.

Then we should all be so simple.

Quote from: kythri;1069969The only one potentially hurt here is the charity that benefits from the Humble Bundle, but, hey, who cares about collateral damage when you're on a holy crusade?

This is why I know all the talk of advocating for minorities is merely gaslighting for an insane power grab.

Quote from: wmarshal;1069979When one is a zealot in a cult purity matters more than anything.

Thisss.

Purity is a disease and the foundation of every genocidal regime that ever existed.

Quote from: sureshot;1069986At the very least the only good thing to come out of this is showcase how toxic and insane Stacey is. Your certifiably nuts imo when you start attacking charities because the companies that use them refuse to bow down to your rhetoric.

More disappointing than anything.

Quote from: Omega;1070015True. But way back all the dramatics, manipulation and backstabbing was going on mostly behind the curtains. Now-a-days the curtain is ripped off and you can see every dirty deed paraded about.

And now it's been 'normalized'.

No it doesn't. It doesn't even appear on TheRPGSite searches.

Quote from: Spinachcat;1070029I congratulated her in that thread! And she deserved it. First year of an online con with 40 events / 25 GMs with no budget? Great job.

Of course, she also deserves this thread too!

Brad is a man of wisdom.  Since he was the first to call it out he should get a whole case of beer.  I mean the signs were there and obvious as the mid day sun.

Stacy: "I want to run these event, but only women get to be GMs."

Translation: "I view women so weak that they need a special event that lets them be the all powerful GMs.  Viva la revolution!"

The latter statement does not appear to be true. Google seems to show only a few very, very old posts from The RPGPundit's Own Forum.

I googled garycon boycott and this thread was the sixth result.

John H. Kim Dude! Are you reading theRPGsite regularly or something? It can be hazardous to one's mental health and blood pressure - I say as a regular poster.

John H. Kim Seriously, this sucks, and most posters there are absolutely assholes. I stay there mostly because I refuse to give up on calling them on their bullshit.

Searching garycon boycott alone does not produce anything from this thread for me, also in Firefox. Specifying that with site:therpgsite.com does produce page 7 of this thread from 12/15 but nothing else; I'm kind of mystified how Google's web crawlers found it, since they presumably would be guests and unable to see this forum. Searching fairly significant terms or users earlier in the thread produces no results, so apparently that was all it could find to index, and nothing since from this thread.

So you have to know what you're looking for, and it's still very, very hit or miss. Perhaps RPGPundit or the site administrators can tell us whether they intended it to be searchable via Google, and if not why some of it still sneaks through. Given that you can often read a cached copy of a page and that they did intend to block the forum from those who have not signed up, I'd be surprised if they intended it to be searchable in Google.
