Anything that takes itself so seriously that humor is not allowed always dies in parody. My wife would have laughed at the boobies comment too.


Now if someone were upset that someone wrote raping and disparaging women helped them relax I'd be a little more sympathetic, but they didn't, they wrote boobies.

People like the reported hostile complainer never seem to realize that they not only cause great harm to their movement, but they are also guilty of the very thing that they claim to be against. When your actions result in volunteer staffers crying, you are probably an abusive piece of shit.

Isn't that just special. Now, because of a whining twit such as Lindsey, well, there just won't be a fucking Derbycon. Brilliant! They keep this nonsense up, more and more people will just say fuck it and not have any kind of public gatherings. Of course, the deeper solution is for more people to tell these sniveling jackasses that it is too bad, they can go and fuck themselves. Whine some more! Cry, and screech like a little bitch! Like the song title, "Crying like a Bitch!" It's sad, but more people in charge of these kinds of events need to be harsh, ruthless, and uncompromising with these morons. Rinse and repeat, at every event, every con, at every opportunity. The social jackasse.s will be left circle-jerking themselves on social media, crying about how mean and unjust the world is! Whaa! Whaa! Ultimately, that is what needs to be done. That's the only way these shrill attention-whores will be defeated, when their antics no longer get any response except a brutal "Cry like a Bitch!" response. Then it's just them and their little cliques of fans on social media crying to each other, because noone else gives a fuck what they think, and shuts them down whenever they try to socially blackmail a con or a corporation. I don't see that happening though.

This isn't just about DerbyCon, it is present at other conferences as well and it's getting worse each year. We've spoken with a number of conference organizers, and each year it becomes substantially more difficult to host a conference where people can come together in large group settings. It's not just conferences either. This behavior is happening all over the place on social media, in our industry, targeting people trying to do good.

Like I said before, I'd like to see conference organizers just walk away when they're harassed like this. And make it clear why they're walking away. The people who are calling out the organizers - typically volunteers - who sit on boards can step up and run them. And if they don't, just cancel the events.

I know that sounds like giving in, but I don't think it is. These professional grievance champions feed off the social media conflict. Off the publicity and endless wrangling. If organizers just walked away and said "okay, you run this con" the SJWs would own the problem. And if the event doesn't happen at all, then all the passive types who hold back from criticizing the zealots now have a real stake in the issue. They can let the event die - and know whose fault it is - or they can step up.

We have two parties who have pretty much settled their issue between themselves. But activists want to make hay out of the topic, and are using it to drive a narrative.

Shows how much they actually respect the 'survivors'.

DerbyCon, a long-running information security conference is shutting down due to similar patterns of behaviour. It is not a single unstable, vindictive  individual. It is an environment which allows unstable, vindictive individuals to run amok and destroy popular, successful events in the name of a deranged ideology.

There was also a meltdown over someone wearing a Trump hat at the most recent Hope conference.

The fact shit like this is shutting down hacker conferences is extremely concerning.

Of course, joke's on them after they erected a "mental health village" instead of telling mental health cases to go see a doctor or something.

Sadly I've known too many incompetent mental health 'professionals' who either exploit patients or have issues themselves. So I appreciate they at least gave it a college try.
