Yeah, pot legalization AND gay marriage (which, keep in mind, has failed 30+ years in a row over the entire country).

Guess the whole 'tide of generations' thing worked. Of course, now conservatives are getting desperate.

There is good evidence, actually, that even hard drugs can be used by some people without problem.
The trick is that it's highly stress dependent -- if your life sucks, chances are drugs will become an escape and everything turns to shit.

That said, yeah, think I'll pass on meth..

Unfortunately, this forum is filled with total a-holes, including a bunch of rape culture enabling dillholes.

If you consider Missouri the Bible Belt it's coming quick especially since law enforcement is far too busy with the real stuff (meth and heroin). I can blaze right in my driveway, no reaction because they already know the dumbest thing I might do is go to the  corner store for a bag of potato chips and MAYBE a six-pack.

Far more likely is that I zone out pain free and relax. It totally helps with my CP no joke. Then it's all about cooking food for me.:)

I'm from Indiana and I never considered the Midwest the Bible Belt. I always thought of the South that way. Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina...

Eastern New Mexico still considers itself "part of the Bible Belt"

I've been to a number of school board meetings in this part of the State, where they are quite angry and "bothered" that the State is requiring them to teach Sex Ed in 11th Grade (in general, 16 & 17-year olds).

My initial response, is becoming a conversation point lately as I travel:
School Board: "What is your thoughts on this matter, representative of the State?"
Me: "I think you'll be teaching Sex Ed to a lot of pregnant 16 and 17-year olds..."

My opinion has been popularized as "CaliforniaThink", though every educator has agreed with me in private.

My version of the Bible Belt is rural West Tennessee, where law enforcement remains very strict regarding cannabis. A roach in your ashtray means you are an evil threat to society and must be removed immediately.

I would love to see this kind of thing go away. I expect the extra dollars Colorado is raking in will go a long way towards making that happen on the political level, with the goodwill from medical mj benefits taking up the slack. But I do think Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, etc will be the last states to buckle.

Plus the unbearable southern summer heat is getting more punishing every year. If it wasn't for my parents I'd have moved to the northwest by now anyway.

My political views are framed by studies and reason. Show me a good, solid, rational reason for X, and I'll do a heel turn and follow you. Heck, I was a global warming denier until someone, ~5 years ago, pointed me at a good collection of data and reports. Changed my mind right then and there.

So while I might hazily have, at one point, assumed a lot about drugs, actual decent studies show that the vast majority of addiction comes from stress.

So hey, if you ACTUALLY want to combat drug addiction, tackle things like income inequity first.


But we're not exactly talking about regions with a boundless appreciation for scientific rigor.

My dad and his pals smoked pipes. Loved the smell. Still do.

I smoked cigs in high-school a few lifetimes ago. Had to quit because I wrestled and played football and my lungs needed it. Then I started smoking weed... less volume, more enjoyment. Didn't impact my "normal life" as much. Pretty much went off and on until I took up a practice that precluded me from doing it anymore...

Cigars. My wife can't stand the smell. I don't mind them tho. Was never "into" them unless I was rolling a blunt.

BTW - that PAX vaporizer? It's AWESOME. Love it love it love it. I kinda resent that's its called the iPod of vapes (only because I dislike Apple) - but I understand why. The design of it is very Apple (and brilliant).
