This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.
The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Their talk about racism in general has gone insane of course, but I have been noticing a certain pattern. Finally here's a specific thing that drove it home, and really infuriated me:

Georgia announced their new voting regulations, and Democrats predictably cried racism.....even though nobody could really explain why it's racist (something about the timing relative to Trump's refusal to admit defeat blah blah....). And Biden went as far as to compare it to Jim Crow in the south. He even called it Jim Crow on steroids, "Jim Eagle" etc.

Now why the FUCK would you do that after all the race panic, hysteria, and violence of 2020? When the new bill doesn't even try to address race at all? Why would you poke that old wound in such a hyperbolic way? The reason is because the Democrats are trying to sell the party through fear; Glenn Loury already said it, the message of Democrats to minorities is not hope, it's fear “Be very afraid, be very afraid” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SkXuF-EKvo).

I can't believe that so many people fall for this in such numbers but here we are. Seriously, fuck that shit.

In other words, it doesn't matter if they're incompetent or evil; the results are bad either way.

Meanwhile, Gropey Joe announces he wants the OPEC+ countries to produce more oil.

Greetings!

Oh, Geesus. The fucking Democrats are so goddamned incompetent. Biden is a fucking moron.

President Trump had this country up and roaring--energy independent for the first time in 50 or 75 years. NO MIDDLE EAST OIL NEEDED! In fact, Trump jump-started our economy so well, that America was EXPORTING energy resources to the world--again, for the first time in decades.

Creating jobs, expanding industries, increasing the stock market, making America more profitable and enjoying more opportunities for everyone--from the corporate executive to the pipe-fitter, truck driver, machinist, and more.

All of that progress is gone with fucking cock-sucking Marxist Biden. ALL GONE!

You just need to get comfortable being on your knees, broke and poor, with no opportunities.

But no more mean tweets is right! *Laughing* Whaa! Whaa! Fucking crybaby pussies.

How is not being able to hand out food and water to people waiting immediately in front of the voting booth (because it's a method of influencing their voting) affecting "people of color"? They say that the longest lines are in historically black neighborhoods, but give relatively little evidence supporting this, and self-serve water booths are legal. Handing out water further away (150 feet) is also legal. Some of the references refer to other things, such as one place where they now have to drive five miles (!) to vote. The inhumanity. I have often gone much further on a bike.

Same thing goes for things like voter ID (BTW Georgia has a LOT of options as to what constitutes an ID). My wife and I are immigrants to USA, and my wife is very much "of color". We managed to get valid IDs almost immediately after entering the country. Sometimes I think that Democrats believe black people can't tie their own shoe laces. They are literally doing some sort of demented data-mining to find any discrepancy, and then explaining that these changes happened because of white racism.

EDIT: and even if it were all true; that black people are more affected (they can still vote but have to have a drink before actually entering the lines), how does that even begin to justify Joe Biden's words?

An opinion piece from a Democrat activist. Surely a fair and impartial source.

In fact, Trump jump-started our economy so well

Obama jump-started the Economy again after the 2008-2009 crash. Trump inherited it and spoke about it like if it was his own merit alone (as usual). His cultists then drank the Holy Words.

*BusinessInsider* is a Leftist rag. Obama's economic achievements from 2012-2016 were *dismal*. GDP growth was shit. Most every economic indicator, Obama was an absolute failure. TRUMP got the economy humming strong during his term, which had nothing to do with the incompetence of Obama.

The recovery from the 2008 recession was the slowest since at least World War 2. It's a terrible performance, not an accomplishment to celebrate.

And Trump, for all his stupid protectionism, nonetheless managed to get that stubborn workforce participation rate up (something Obama struggled with), and increased jobs at the low end of the economic ladder, helping blue color workers and minorities. Though that also had its downside, because a lot of those low income jobs were in the gig economy. Neither did much about about the overall fragility of the economy, though Trump did less damage. Both loved deficit spending, big budgets, and unsustainable monetary inflation.

*BusinessInsider* is a Leftist rag.

Of course it is: it doesn't say that Trump was the bestest.

Quote
Obama's economic achievements from 2012-2016 were *dismal*.

"Dismal" is something that I would apply to the previous administration: a bunch of guys who thought that lending money to people unable to repay it - and then building the most complex economic system ever seen with this concept as its basis - was smart.

I'm not happy with Obama. Surprise! He failed to fix all the loopholes that allowed for such a folly to happen. Why, I'll never know (he also fired more missiles than all other Nobel Peace Prizes did together). However, he inherited an economy in shambles and gave to Trump an economy streaking upwards.

I see that Bloomberg recognises Trump's merits, so maybe it is a "Rightist rag".

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2020-10-30/trump-s-economy-really-was-better-than-obama-s

But denying what Obama inherited and what he left to Trump is simply delusional.

Greetings!

I never claimed that Trump was the *bestest*. I regularly read *BusinessInsider*--they publish pro-Leftist, anti-Trump, anti-conservative articles all the time, Reckall. Essentially, they are in the same club that The Atlantic--which is another Leftist propaganda mouthpiece.

And yes, Bush Jr. was pretty pathetic in his second term in handling the economy, and didn't do any favors for Obama. None the less, Obama had 8 years--2008 to 2016--and at the end of the day, is economic achievements were dismal. So, I am not denying anything that Obama inherited. I wanted Obama to do something good for the economy, Reckall, but he just didn't. Year after year, nothing but platitudes and hot air about "Hope and Change".

So, clearly, Obama didn't leave Trump with a functioning economy. I read numerous reports at the time that maintained that Obama's economic policies had merely created a mediocre economy that was treading water. Growth, GDP, all the good stuff--was "Anemic".

So, looking at what TRUMP accomplished from a battered, weak, treading-water economy--TRUMP'S accomplishments are excellent in comparison to Obama. Why do Leftists always yammer about this bullshit after the fact like it was rainbow fucking candy land? I remember Obama's fucking years, all eight of them--and very few people during those years had anything good to say about how Obama was running the fucking economy. But have a conservative come along and do great things--in contrast to the Liberal bullshit--and suddenly, the Leftists come out of the woodwork praising the mediocre, pathetic economic achievements of fellow Liberals and trying to convince everyone that "Oh, no! The Liberal economic plans work just fine!"

The Liberal economic plans are mostly garbage, from top to bottom. Like a broken clock, they occasionally get a few things right, but most of the time they are economic failures.
