SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

RPGnet's decay (TBP madness)

QuoteNot quite on topic, but RPG Pub was holding a death watch for the 'site.  I thought how it was like a wake, and had a second thought - twice in one day even! I was going to post this link when this site re-opened, but a mod closed that thread before I could post - So I'll post it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSsFdqdNRoY

Yeah, I browsed there and ENWorld a couple of times, just to see if I could get a quick fix while the site was down.  The Pub had way less activity than I was used to, and the quality of commentary was... questionable...

The first thread I clicked on at ENWorld asserted that the illustrations in D&D in the 80s and 90s were racist and sexist, and how much better the fat, diverse, and unheroic characters pictured in the newest works are.  So, yeah, ENWorld is still smooth-brain central.  I'm glad the theRPGsite is back up...

Glad this forum returns unfettered with the abject fucktardary of any of those other forums. RE:" Pathfinder 2E has made it at least implicit that one cannot be socially conservative and of Good alignment"

If that's the case, "Good" in fact now means "Evil", by its very definition. Conservatives would seem to preserve morality, while progressives attempt to change social norms to whatever fits their current world view. The second position is antithetical to objective truth, again by definition. So as I have asked before, is there anything communists can't fuck up?
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

I keep forgetting about rpg pub. That's probably how they prefer it.
ENWorld can go eat a back of flaming dicks.

I

I know that some of the members here post at RPG Pub, so maybe they can tell me:  just what is the appeal of that place?  Talk about boring... I think in the past few years I've seen a grand total of 2 or 3 threads worth reading.  At least TPB is interesting, and often has substantial conversations until the commissars shut them down.  And their woke shit is entertaining even if infuriating.  I often forget about the Pub; then I visit and remember why.

I saw their "wake" thread and got a good laugh, some of them being scared we'd migrate over there, LOL.  Like I'd sign up there if this place went down.  I'd sooner join a forum discussing lawn mowers or dishwashing detergents.

Reminds me of Neogaf and others.

Apparently, referring to Jennell Jaquays using only her last name is sexist or something and good for a one week ban.

I ate a 3 day ban for having the temerity to say that the Jews were indigenous to Israel, and thus could not colonize their own indigenous land.

Haven't you heard? Woke Jew-hatred is A-OK with the Left, unlike those other nasty alternative forms of Jew-hatred.

Right after Iran launched around 300 missiles at Israel a gathering of anti-War activists broke out in cheers for Iran.  But that's going to be considered A-OK since these are just well-intentioned peace activists.  It's feeling more and more like 1939 when the American Communists decided to side with Hitler against Britain after Germany and Russia conquered Poland.

@yosemitemike: All will be made to comply.

What's particularly stupid about that ban is that Jaquays published under the name Paul for decades before changing names to Jennell.  If someone was looking at a physical example of Jaquay's original work, insisting on only using the full name of Jennell Jaquay could cause confusion as a person not versed in Jaquay's history might assume that Paul was either a family relation, but not the same as Jennell Jaquay.  I also liked that the mods had to put a disclaimer that many of the recommendations were for works by 'awful' people that all correct-thinking people ought to avoid.

They do love to include a side of sanctimonious lecturing with their bans.

That's the problem with the idea of "Deadnaming". (Which, IMO, is part of the larger "Agree with me or I'll commit suicide!" trans activism tactic)
Famous (even small time RPG writer famous) means that there is going to be some confusion about names. It's not exclusive to trans people, but the activists make a stink about it in order to bludgeon fans with their ideology.

Considering they locked infractions from outside influence I urge you to post screens of given posts, as many here won't see it.

Not to mention the mod openly admitting that Jaquays was the mod's coworker and friend, thus immediately demonstrating a conflict of interest when it comes to applying policy.
