SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

RPGNet is begging for money.

Interesting that things like "A functional search engine." or "Immunity from Mod Bias." are not stretch goals.
"Meh."

Problem is, you pay for membership, but can still be banned for no real reason. This rather reduces the appeal of it... $250, life member, banned next week? Hmmm.

Shhh! Don't tempt them to look under the hood! If they look under the hood they won't fall for the--I mean, they won't DONATE MONEY, yeah that's it...

What's interesting is that there's 30 people out there who have almost completely funded TBP's little whine and cheese party. I doubt many of those are new blood. I would guess probably at least 1/3 of those pledges are coming from the cool kids so they can keep their little clubhouse going.

Whatever...

"...maybe this has to do with my being around at the start of published RPGs and the DIY attitude that we all had back then but, it seems to me that if you don\'t find whatever RPG you are playing sufficiently inclusive you ought to get up off your ass and GM something that you do find sufficiently inclusive. The RPG setting of your dreams is yours to create. Don\'t sit waiting and whining for someone else to create it for you." -- Bren speaking on inclusivity in RPGs

I was thinking exactly that. What if someone pays for membership and gets permabanned. Imagine their face!:rotfl:
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

Let them beg.

It seems every time I go to rpg.net I read the who got banned section and half of them make no fucking sense to me. Talk about screwy moderation.

And they see sexism in almost everything.
Running: HarnMaster, Barbaric 2E!, and EABA.

This is why Germany was invented, so they could give us the word "Schaedenfreude."  :D

They'd just adopt SA model, 10 bucks for new account.

No goal for search engine makes me roll my eyes. Also:

One Horse Town

Well, it was good of them to use a homage to the cover art of Pundit's Forward to Adventure! in the opening video still.

flyerfan1991

I guess they figured that if ENWorld can do it, so can we.  Of course, I believe that ENWorld did much better with their fundraising than TBP has done so far.

Eisenmann

Well, they're being honest with the 'infamous' tag.

The Traveller

"Thirteen thousand" active members (and I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit there) and they can't raise a couple of grand in advertising, even when they run into mysterious difficulties taking down cheesecake adverts.

Next up, an attempt to get government funding as an "arts" project.

What do you expect when you ban everyone? No site that's what! :D

This. You could go there right now and find several examples.

How much so they will prune unused accounts off the user base?

I'm new here, so to dispel my ignorance, what is 'tbp'?
